892M Wheels Installed

I finally got the new wheels for the X3MC.. went with the 892M style wheels, with Michelin PS4’s. 265/40/21 fronts and 295/35/21 rears. They fit well, as they should, being factory X3MC wheels.

I netted a weight lose of roughly 1.1 lbs per wheel/tire. Keep in mind I went to the upsized tires, so that’s probably what negated the advertised 4.4 lbs lighter per wheel. Overall very happy with the new look. Might consider spacers, and lowering springs in the near future. A few pics of weights and final install pics as well. Comments welcomed.

They look awesome on your pre-LCI! Where did you order the 892M's from?

I'm about 99% sure this is the exact wheel/tire combo I will be ordering for my pre-LCI.

Looks great! Takes me longer to clean the wheels than it does to hand wash the car..Enjoy

Haha!! Yeah, that’s the only downside. But my wife enjoys the detail work of washing our cars, so I’ll let her continue on with that task.

Curious how long it took you to receive the wheels after ordering?

I did an order expedite… cost me $325 additional dollars. Overall it took about 4 weeks.

Looks sweet.

I need to see this done on a Donnington Gray X3M to see if how it looks with the body color.

Honestly, I haven’t seen a body color these don’t look good on. I’m an aftermarket wheel kinda guy, but man these are extremely nice, and nice looking wheels.

Just a note to those considering ordering these… they’re SUPPOSED to be machined face, however, as you can see they’re not bright machine faced wheels.

It looks to me like they sprayed a dark tint coat on the face after they did the machine face treatment. So, essentially they’re not jet black, but not bright like the factory 763M’s either.

I have the exact 892M wheels coming tomorrow. I ordered the exact same tires in the exact same size and I ordered it from getbmwparts.com as well. I happen to have purchased 12mm spacers that I will be installing with my setup.

I did not pay for expediting and my wheels were ordered from Germany. It took less than 3 weeks to be delivered. I had no idea that these wheels were lighter, thats just a bonus. They look great..

That’s great news for you! Congrats! Yeah, they’re a bit lighter… supposedly 4.4 lbs per wheel lighter, but going with the bigger tires it’ll negate a bit of the weight savings. Post some pics once you get yours mounted with the spacers, I’d love to see them.

Two questions… did you purchase longer bolts to use with the 12mm spacers? And secondly, which brand spacers did you purchase?

Can't answer for lolo-comp, but you definitely need extended lug bolts with 12mm spacers.

H&R and Future Classic seem to be the popular choices on this forum, I'll probably order H&Rs from RGSport this spring.
