18' Ambient Lighting

Hi all,
I have a quick question about the ambient lighting in an 18' X3. I bought this car for my wife new and don't remember it always looking like this, but she doesn't notice it being different. It looks super spotty compared to my other cars. Not normal, right?

No, its not normal.
Lots of cars have the issue, and have been addressed by the dealer.
Some people have advised its because of tinting, and the excess water damaging the led strips causing those hot spots you see.

mine looks like that too, I have an appointment in a few weeks to get it replaced.

I refuse to believe this is from window tinting, it's absurd.
