roof rails and car washes

OK...
Yes, I'm lazy, and don't want to take off the rails that are installed on the roof every time I drive through the automated car wash.

I used to drive a GMC and totally f'd up a good pair of rails in a car wash before.
But their attachment was completely different than my new-to-me F25.

Anybody with positive or negative life experiences related to keeping your rails on while drive through a carwash?

Are you talking about the factory roof rails or an added aftermarket roof rack? I've never heard of any issue going through a car wash with factory rails. What about finding a touch less wash, if it worries you?

I personally clean my car myself, but the odd once or twice a year I'll run through a touchless with my added rack and my bike attachment on, with no issue.

sorry - that would help........

aftermarket rails..... appear to have an extremely sturdy clamp setup....
not sure how exactly they compare to the oem clamp......

Here's the link:

I've found a fairly local brushless.... but depending on the bugs and whatnot.... the automated generally does a better job.

I'll hand wax a couple times a year... but routine wash.... I let the machines do that for me. (again - yes, i can be that lazy / i know it / and i own it)

FYI - fwiw.......... since putting these rails on.... ZERO added wind noise... at any speed...
I've been very pleased with them for the past 2-3 weeks...

I'm running the OEM bars and never had an issue. You should definitely be fine, I doubt it's going to "rip" it off the rails as long as it securely fastened on there.

Sometimes I get a slight wind noise with the OE rack + bike attachment.
