Have you ever driven a Porsche?

Have you ever driven a Porsche *SUV*? Their SUVs don't drive anything like 911s, I'd take an X3 over a Macan any day.

This is generally one of the most meaningless reviews I’ve ever seen. Plain vanilla, few words about the looks, nearly none about the performance, loads of Sirius thingy talk and, respect for that one, recommending Continental tires.

You clearly missed the part where I said I've owned 2 Turbo S's, A GT3, as well as the Macan... It's your prerogative to desire a BMW over the Porsche, but don't say they don't drive as well... Because that'd make you WRONG!!!!!

Not sure if they we were watching the same video? They both commented on the performance, handling through turns, mentioned it in comparison to the older X3M, as well as an X3 M40i, talked about the looks for...a good minute with comparisons again, and launched it multiple times giving pretty good acclaim for the performance.

Maybe you need another pass through it lol.

Well considering 3/4 of those you listed *aren't* a Porsche SUV, like I mentioned, I'd have to say you're completely high if you think your Macan drive anywhere near as good as a comparable, $30k+ cheaper, BMW SUV would.

For the same $, I'd pick the Macan GTS but NOT at the current price premium.

I'd argue the GTS is barely better than the S. Drive both and tell me you notice a
difference.

X3M is a much bette value without question.

We shall agree to disagree... I Do own an X3MC currently and have owned the Macan. Both are great, both drive well, but the Porsche drives better.

Very personal choices. Porsche SUVs are not my thing.
The only Porsche I would even consider is a manual GT3 since BMW no longer offers anything manual at that performance level.
I never liked the style of the Macan. A little too bland for my taste compared to the X3MC. I did not even cross shop between the X3MC and the Macan. Looked at the X5 M but it was too big and plush for me.
So keeping the M4 GTS (and soon M4 CSL) for weekend fun and second X3MC in a row for daily fun. Lucky to be able to have both, I admit…

Not in Australia. Significantly more expensive than a macan GTS. I also found most of the options I was going to select were included in the GTS so the value prop was not stacked in favour of the S.

Same as in South Africa. The new GTS is much closer in price to the M40i actually.

Just another formulaic Straight Pipes review. All follow the same predictable format. They're sponsored by Continental so will always recommended one of their tires.

I like their reviews. They have fun and have the added benefit of being able to compare to a large library of their other reviews. I generally find that for the cars they've reviewed that I've also driven they are pretty spot on.

It's almost like you actually watched the whole video instead of jump-skipping through it to get a half-ass opinion.

Nothing against them. I respect the work they put into producing their content. I even used to be a subscriber. But for the past few years they seem increasingly into chasing supercars and it shows when they review any "normal cars." Their reviews focus on daily drivability and infotainment which is fine, but not hard to find elsewhere. Every video runs through a standard checklist and reads straight off the press release like many other channels. They skimp on finer points of driving dynamics and lack any technical background or critical analysis. Just doesn't stand out to me in a competitive field of youtubers.

And space. I tried one several times, once in a comfortable driving position there was no room for a rear passenger which for a vehicle of that type kind of made it useless for me.
