M3 Carbon Fiber Steering Wheel Inserts
Can I purchase the carbon fiber bits from the M3 steering wheel to retrofit onto the 2023 X3 M Competition wheel? It looks like it would just be the two pieces.
And if so can someone send me the part #?  |

I can confirm that none of it will fit. I have the M3 pieces on my desk as I bought them for my 240i. I have also installed the M Performance pieces to my x3m LCI.
Close but no cigar. Get the M performance ones, a lot cheaper anyway and very nice. I thought I would miss having the hole in the center.. I don’t at all. Plus, the quality of the CF work on the stock G80 piece is surprisingly poor around the hole. Very rough edges and the clear is runny. I almost sent it back. |

I took a chance on an AliExpress piece. I had the OE Performance trim, which was beautiful but the weave is a different size to all the other carbon on the car and it just didn’t sit right with my OCD.
 I think the only tell tale that it’s not OE is the M badge at the bottom but you’d really have to ‘know’ to know. If you zoom in on my photos you can see that the fit and finish is pretty darn good. And it’s way way cheaper! https://a.aliexpress.com/_mqIv6S6 I also installed a carbon top trim to match. https://a.aliexpress.com/_mryoR06 And yes…….I know the OE carbon weave direction on the dash carbon goes the other way on a RHD car
