High pitch sound from under the car
Can you help me with this noise? Just startet the car this day and the noise appeared.
Seems to come from below the car. More noticeable on the right side. |

If you mean the higher tone at the beginning of the video, I wouldn't call it high pitch. As a ordinary driver I would say it sounds alright.

But seems not normal right? I hear it if the car is warm. If i assume that the fan is not moving when the car is cold, it could be the fan. But you ar right. Something like metal to metal.

Since the car was stationary, there were not a lot of parts moving so the possibilities are limited. My first guess is drive belts. They can sometimes make funny noise when starts up since it's cold, but the noise can be gone quickly after warm up (the tension of belts changes quickly with temperature). But, this is just a guess and your mileage may vary.
I saw that you checked out this thread already but yours should not be the same (i.e. steering column issue) since your steering wheel was also stationary. Squawking Noise https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1538280 |
