I agree on the new gauges. They are terrible. Very poorly executed. There's this giant beautiful screen with almost zero customizability. The entertainment details are useful because then you can use the center dash screen for 100% navigation. However, having the stupid little navigation map between the speedo and tach is probably the most pointless thing I have ever seen. It provides zero value to the driver, especially on HUD cars. I also like some dimensionality to my gauges. With the full led screen it is just so flat, one dimensional and boring.

I doubt BMW would put out the same engine and just raise the official HP rating. It's not their style. I would bet money that they will legitimately increase the HP.

There will be quite a few component changes to the engine as well as power increase, one article on it is here

Any news on release date?
From what I have read the 2019 production runs through July.

Interior updates:
Is a new dash a possibility? Will this resemble the X5?
New instrument cluster /digital dash?
ID7?
Android integration?

Drivetrain:
So far I have seen a possible increase of ~30 hp.

Exterior:
Laser headlights?
New wheels?
Even the X3M does NOT have the new dash.

Looks like the significant item there is an updated fueling system with new HPFP and higher pressure fuel injection. Should allow for more tuning potential as tuning solutions for the current engine seem to be maxing out the fueling system.

For what it’s worth here are some updates found on this thread and from other threads.

August 2018
* G01 X3 and G02 X4 will be getting the new dash next year for MY2020. That's also when we'll see the hybrid X3 xDrive30e with the same motor as the upcoming G20 330e, uprated to 275hp

"G01 X3 and G02 X4 will have their life extended to 10/24 and 06/25. It's possible Spartanburg will not be the primary production plant for their successors."

100%. BMW has made poor utilisation of the new digital dash compared with Audi's digital cockpit. I haven't seen any tangible advantages the new speedometer has over the ones in the 5-Series.

Any chance we'll be getting remote start for 2020?

I think the point an earlier post made about the use of the HUD is spot on. I don't need a virtual or customizable digital dash since everything I need to know is on the HUD. Even now when I use the in car nav I don't even have the map on the center screen...it's usually running Apple carplay Waze app to know where the speed traps are.

I barely look at my current dash as is...adding a new dash would look nice, but not needed. Plus I'm sure it will add to the overall cost or even be part of the new executive package with a higher price tag. Audi's virtual cockpit is an expensive option. I'm sure at some point it will be standard, but now you have to shell out some cash for it.

I just can't imagine looking at a full nav map on my dash display. It would be too distracting as then you'll have three separate screen to watch; HUD, digital dash, and center screen.

Just the HUD is perfect for me.

As for power...don't think they'll up the HP. The new X3M is coming out and I'm sure BMW wants to keep a good gap between the two. I think the new HP numbers and revision to the engine were meant for the Z4 that's out now.

FWIW- My experience (which consists of 3 days since delivery), is that the HUD almost makes the digital display an afterthought. I find myself always looking at the HUD and rarely at the digital dash.

The X3M and X4M are still using ID6.0. I don't believe 2020 m40i is going to use ID7.0. X4 just have new generation last year. it's not likely they are going to change this much in second year.

My dealer has already confirmed the new full digital dash for the 2020 X4. Just waiting on confirmation of the HP increase

It's very possible. X5 has it available, as well as new 3-series.

I hope it is added, along with some Tartufo Extended Merino interior.
