Head rest?

Quick question fellow members...

Have MY16 X3, is the rear seat centre head rest height adjustable at all? I tried to pull it up but it won't budge. I see the release button to push it back down, so assume it should go up.

Had the car for 3 yrs, and tried to raise it for the first time and it was a no go. Lol. So just wondering. If it is suppose to be adjustable, then I need to bring it in before warranty ends.

I tried to raise mine to apply some leather conditioner to the top of the seat and it wouldn't budge. Short person goes in the middle seat

+1...it's not designed to move.

My 2014 rear head rests were interfering with the rear view. I tried to drive with them lowered but they still blocked some of the view. One of the three would not come off and I had to have the dealer remove it. It was stuck all the way down and I was afraid I might break something removing it. All is well now. ( No one sits in the back.)

As long as we are talking head rests, I can't understand why manufacturers don't make headrests that tilt forward. Having them adjust up and down only doesn't do much as you have to lean way back to rest your head against them. (I think Mercedes headrests tilt forward on some models.)

It will move but it's notorious for becoming stuck. We have a trunk liner that connects to it and I've had to have the dealer fix it twice.

It is odd on the F25.

On my 2014 F31 .... the front head RESTRAINTS adjusted up/down and forward/back.

Lol

Still no definitive answer...lol. Ah well, I'll ask the dealer on my next and final "free" oil change.

Unrelated to JSSGR8's original question, but an interesting factoid.

I don't know if it continued through the entire life of the F25, but the '11 F25s had a small pyrotechnic charge in some of the headrests. Under certain crash conditions it would discharge, and force a pre-loaded spring to snap the headrest forward (less whiplash?). After such a crash, the headrest was said to be needed to be replaced.
