Advice on replacement springs for 2007 X3

Greetings all,

I have a broken spring in the rear that needs to be replaced. My thought is to replace both in the rear at the very least, and would opt not to get the OEM BMW springs the cost ~$215 each, for something else like Beilstein that is reputable and costs way less... unfortunately Beilstein doesn't make a spring for this model car. Apparently the 2007 BMW X3 3.0SI Sports Package model requires different springs than the standard model, and in some cases the panoramic sun-roof plays a role of some kind in the selection for some spring brands (not sure why?).

Does anyone have any suggestions on what spring brand/product may work for this situation and car model (here's last 7 of VIN if that helps: WF01052)?

I noticed Eibach sells a pro-kit spring set that requires that I buy and then replace all four, but is only $250, but lowers the car too, which I don't necessarily want to do, and then again not sure if it's going to fit... need to confirm with the company on that. Has anyone installed this on their X3?

Thanks for any help/suggestions.

I installed the Eibach kit on my previous 07 X3 and it improved the ride and handling of the car. You do not notice the effect of the lowering. I also had broken rear springs that predicated the work.

I replaced my 2005 rear springs with Lesjofors springs. They cost less than $100 each and fit correctly in the spring perch.

You can see it when you take the wheel off. Depending on where it broke, the broken end may rattle over bumps, and if you only broke one, you might have an uneven ride height in the rear.

For what its worth, I went with the Eibach set to replace my one broken rear spring, I didn't really notice a huge difference in handling.
