The 28d should get exception fuel economy. But if it's too sluggish, I'll hate it. On the other hand, I get my adrenalin rush from my BMW K1600gtl.
Well according to BMW's own stats the 28i is 25% faster off the line than the 28d. You'll have to decide for yourself if that is "sluggish" or not ; )

It is funny how Porsche is perceived here in Europe, in opposition to North America. I admit I would love to have a Cayman GTS, It seems that for North America customers it is more important to have the Porsche badge on the car, and less important to know that some pieces are not Porsche but VAG. Read some European (German and French ones) forums, and no one want to pay for a Porsche badged car, with VAG pieces inside (it doesn't concern the 911). even I admit too the front facia of the Macam is nice.

For sure the X3 has no cargo space as your LC, but I still have been able to put 60 cows inside !!!!!
If there is one option I could recommend you: it is the active suspension. Even with the M sport package and its 19" wheels, the active suspension makes the car really comfortable (it is actually more comfortable than my previous E91 335i Msport Package in 18" wheels). If you want to have the suspension harder, just one press on the button and it is done. Handling is very good too, here is link to my own experience with my x3 on a race track in France http://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=257
Yeah, at Nordkapp it is often the weather you experienced. I have been to Nordkapp just once, when I served my duty in the Norwegian army. It was so foggy that I just saw the reflection of my own face when I looked outside the window

I really agree with you about the Porsches. I don't say that the Macan is an ugly car, but I just don't want one

Thanks for the recommendation of the active suspension. I'm planning to take an X3 with this option on loan from the local dealer for a weekend. I have never tried BMW's active suspension but I have it on my Landcruiser (active dampers and air suspension on the rear axle) and I love it. My first Landcruiser didn't have this option and it was a total different car to drive. I really like to have the option to choose the suspension settings, yet it doesn't affect the engine and transmission response as it does on the BMW's.

To: Former BMW owners...Any one has any idea regarding margins on lease or finance rate? Let's say dealer offer 4.9% lease...what's best least rate anyone pulled off to close the deal? 3.9%? 2.9%? Same to finance rate too...offer at 4.9%....best at 3.9% or lower?

I see people here who seem to be ordering 2015 X3s. There is no configurator for the 2015s on the NA BMW website that i can see. I can't find a website with anything more than preliminary info on the 2015 X3.

Are people really able to order 2015 X3s now? I'd be interested in being able to see the full feature list (e.g. ventilated seats?).

Follow this link, translate using Google.

That should give you a good overview of what the new X3 is going to be like

I've ordered one in the Maryland area. It certainly wasn't easier as you mention, there is no configurator online. However, the dealers have the new specs. When asked specific questions such as, "what does the new orange stitch look like? Do you have pictures?" I was referred to online resources...

Ordered 2015 BMW X3 xDrive 28i

My 2011 x3 lease is up in June. I ordered a new 2015 today! Thanks to all of you on here for posting updates and pictures and helping me to make my decision. I ordered a...........

2015 X3 xDrive 28i
Melbourne Red Metallic
Mocha Nevada Leather w/ Orange Contrast Stitching
Fineline Anthracite Trim w/ Chrome Accent

M Sport Package
Cold Weather Package
Driver Assistance Package
Lighting Package w/ Adaptive Full LED Lights and Automatic High Beams
Premium Package
Technology Package
Harmon Kardon Surround Sound System
Parking Assistant
Enhanced USB and Bluetooth plus Smartphone Integration

My salesman said it would be ready between late may and late June. I was hoping to do the pull ahead program and get it sooner but I was told (which I learned here as well) that there was a hold on the M Sport models. TOTAL BUMMER! He did say it could change and be moved up though.

I'm kind of worried about the Mocha Leather with the Melbourne Red. I'm considering switching to the black leather interior instead. However, I currently have a Deep Sea Blue Metallic w/ Leather Nevada Mojave and Brushed Aluminum Trim and it looks great! What do you folks think?

K ;-)

It's a personal taste thing really - I think the Nevada Mojave is a good contrast with DSB, but I would prefer black with Melbourne red.

If we get color choices on the M Sport in the UK, I will go with DSB and black leather.

Thanks for the info. Any others here from Canadian markets that have taken the plunge and ordered the car? I am getting close to order mine and would like to know what, or if any discounts can be obtained for 2015 x3.

Unhappy V nice...but taken too long

I struggle to understand the logic of the minor refresh, that's if you only decided to buy on LCI release.

But must admit it looks hot...!!

The face lift looks great! I've always like the X3 - its a sporty high riding AWD wagon that is a viable alternative to the X1 and 328XiT.

Its not a true SUV with locking differential but 99.9% of X3 owners don't take their X3 off road.

I don't think BMW has any true SUVs in their lineup, right?

To each their own but not a fan of the BMW X4/X6/GTs. The exterior shape really looks like a better looking Pontiac Aztec (i.e. turtle shape)

At least the X3/X5 has the traditional square box SUV exterior lines.
