What does I have to do? If you somebody can tell me : What I have to do about the hardware. After that I can get somebody to do coding. THanks
Did you mean entry nav? CIC is only available prior to 2013 and earlier. What you need is NBT/NBT EVO headunit, CID, touch controller, touch module, Bluetooth antenna, WiFi antenna if you're going NBT EVO and want CarPlay function. It is possible to get TCB/ATM module fitted but it's a bit complex to do.

I just finished up by NBT EVO retrofit too (from a 2013 with CIC professional). I went through a third party since I can't do the advanced coding stuff myself. One question for you, I see that you have the 6WB cluster as well. I had my 6WB retrofitted over the summer, and love it, but now that the NBT EVO is in I'm getting some strange behavior.

The cluster seems to click when I wake up the car or when it goes to sleep. It's very odd. Also, the car itself seems to go to sleep much quicker than it did before. Like when I get home, park in the garage, and turn the car off, and exit, but don't lock it, I can hear all of the modules shut down within a minute. Seems like before it was a 5-10 minute delay. Are you experiencing that?

Did you have to do anything with the MOST at the ZGW? In addition to terminating the MOST at the combox, I had to terminate it at the ZGW as well, which was evidently a result of the 6WB, and wouldn't have been necessary with the factory cluster...

So you still have factory ZGW in car correct? For my setup I replaced factory ZGW with ZGW 4SK, and only MOST termination needed was at combox. I'm not sure if NBT EVO have a different sleep time compared to NBT. But use ISTA to see if there is any error code stored, if not then you should be fine.

Finish CIC on X3 2017 to get NBT EVO carplay.

Finish CIC on X3 2017 to get NBT EVO carplay.
GPS used satellite do not use ATM.
Easy to do the job.
1. Head Unit NBT EVO with blue connector. Model number 2xx
2. Idrive with touch controller
3. Touch Screen 8.8 inch for EVO only
4. GPS Antenna, Wifi Antenna
5. OABR connector modify
6. Modifiy USB cable
7. Good people on Coding.
And you will get the NBT EVO with Apple carplay. I used to read somebody said it is very difficult to do CIC to NBT EVO.
If you somebody want to know. Please contact me. It is not difficult to retrofit from CIC to NBT EVO with new map and Apple carplay.

I spend total $1,500

I'd like to upgrade my head unit aswell. from CIC to NBT like you did. CIC navigation in my F25 is functional, but it very slow for my taste, especially after 2021-1 map update.

Would you mind sharing the parts # you had to buy to retrofit it?

I live in europe (switzerland), I guess I could find everything on ebay.

I think he mean headunit basic, CIC is only avaiable on cars prior to 2013. If you have CIC it's more work to retroffit since CIC uses KCAN1.

If you have CIC you will need to add wires from KCAN2 to headunit quadlock, and replace factory ZGW with ZGW 4SK also run KCAN2 wires to idrive controller. It's alot of work if you are converting to CIC to NBT. If you have headunit basic it's much easier all you need is swap headunit and display since KCAN2 is already on quadlock and touch controller.

Well, turns out my headunit is NBT.

Having nbt makes the upgrade to nbt evo id6 much easier, right?

Yep, you only need to replace your headunit to NBT evo and replace Nav screen with NBT EVO version or use hsd cable that have voltage converter for NBT evo.

If you use the old NBT screen. The resolution is lower than the original EVO screen.

for those who retrofitted their headunits, how to update the maps?

I've heard it's not an easy task, getting the newer version of the map + fsc code won't do it

If you have CIC and your car do not have Navigation. No blue connector.
The easy way you buy the NBT EVO with blue connector.
Buy the GPS antenna and install it.
This is the easy way. I did in my car.
No need to get ATM module.
The easy model is B210 if you can find it.
But you will not get digital radio channel from this model.
After that you can do coding.
More question please let me know.

Are you sure you have CIC? CIC headunit is only used from 10/2010 - 04/2013.

Mine HU is NBT with blue connector.

How do you update maps on retrofitted HU? That's the only thing holding me back from buying it.

In my price range the best deal I could find is an evo model b241 hw 4.1 with gps, dab, bt, wlan, carplay and android mirroring

Retrofit is done!

HU evo id6, g30 10.25" touch, idriver controller touch and LCI climate panel.

6WB cluster, backup camera and HUD are working flawless.
