New Continental coolant pump better reliability?

Hi all, I just took on the dreaded coolant pump replacement as my radiator started leaking and wanted to get everything done at once. I noticed the new continental pump features some rubber grommets on the mounting plate(requiring longer screws) as compared to the original. This appears to be an attempt reduce vibration from the engine block to the pump. It has been said that the failure on these pumps, typically at around 80,000 miles, is a result of the circuit board inside failing and not the actual pump motor. Im wondering if anyone has had a secondary failure on one of these pumps after installing the newly designed pump. Im hoping the dampening of vibrations prevents future premature failures.
