Voyeurism

Hey all, new to this particular forum.

I'm an F85 owner and probably some ways out from getting a new vehicle. But I like the X3M, and I'm going to drive my salesman's 2022 X3MC soon to get a feel for it.

I like the X5M for its size and GVWR (taxes), plus it just looks overall beefier to me. But I like the X3M for its performance and (what I imagine to be) better gas mileage. The looks will grow on me, especially if I lower it and get a fatter summer setup.

So anyway, I'll be chillin' and watching what you guys post for a while. And who knows, maybe I'll get the itch sooner than later. We'll see...

I came from an x5 platform as well (2013 X5M). No regrets!

I don’t know what X5M MPG is like for comparison. But I can tell you my X3M gets worse mileage than my previous 6.2L LS3 V8.

If I'm gentle and have almost no fun, I can get into the low 14s. But I'm generally around 13.5-13.8 if I'm driving my normal. (100+ on highway, occasional punching it in M1/M2 for fun, rarely 130+, but generally nothing too too crazy...) Mostly highway miles and in comfort mode much of the time until I want to get a little jiggy.

You'll be at about same mpg in the x3m then

Damn, that's what someone else told me. Crazy.

Some guys driving F85s get like 18-21MPG and I'm like how. One guy mentioned that he keeps the RPMs under 2,500. I am gentle on my rig and I'm hitting 2,500 pulling out of my street...

Oh well, MPG is not why we buy them right?!

honestly mpg and m cars shouldn't be in the same sentence if you are looking to save on gas you are most def not getting better mileage on x4m/x3m

Ha no sweat! I'm not really ready, just window shopping. Although it was tempting! Also looking at Sao Paulo Yellow, love that color. Some of the crazy yellows and greens too. But I lean toward the darker blue and purple because they're darker and more "stealth" than the brighter colors.

I average 13.8... but I have an obsession with hearing my exhaust and feeling the violent shifts... so there's that.

This has probably been touched on, but it drives much more car-like than your x5m (Gorgeous spec btw!)

One word of the wise though: there is no tune available for the LCI yet, and parts are limited overall because its a bit of a niche vehicle. Still an absolute monster of a car though!

come on over to the dark side, you won't regret it, except when you're at the pump.

Thank you!

I will definitely drive it and see if I get the itch...
