Tune Question
Hi all, I am considering tuning with BM3, just a stage 1 and had a few questions.
I have a 2016 X3 35i with 50k miles on it. (Charge pipe is VRSF) Should I change spark plugs prior to tuning? (assume they are the original, I am the second owner and have had the car since 42k) How do I know if my DME is locked? Is this something to be concerned about? Am I an idiot for wanting to tune my DD that I need some aspect of reliability from? Anything else to think about/be concerned about? |

Don't change the plugs unless you're having an issue.
Bootmod3 will unlock it... but when you connect bootmod3 to the car it tells you in the main screen after the log-in screen if it needs to be unlocked out if the car or not. It makes a huge difference in how she feels. Also you should get xhp for the trans flash but you can use the bootmod3 free one. It's an absolute must either way. The bootmod3 trans flash removes the limits in 3rd and 6th gear. Xhp does that and so much more. You're doing yourself a disservice if you don't do a trans flash.. huge massive disservice. You need some sort of high flow filter. I know it doesn't say it but you really need an intercooler as well. Iats are a big deal even stock. Nice that you have a charge pipe already! I do have some x3 content on my youtube if you're interested.. look up n55david on youtube and instagram.

Unfortunately there isn't a good intake for the x3. The f10 guys got a new intake setup but it won't work for us like the other did as it's a relocation setup. There is a guy who made one that's similar to the f30 setup and ideally we need a relocation kit like that.
