I've always found it weird that PSI is selling a $1700 midpipe without so much as a picture. It's also cut to be shipped. Not a ton of feedback yet on AA, but what's out there is positive. There is that whole debate about whether there's low end power loss, but they make well-fitted stuff with good sound. From what I've heard of Eisenmann they make good quality and loud pipes - same vibe as ER, some say a touch higher quality to match the price tag. I went ER myself. It's the tried and true. And if you do go ER hit up Ben r33_RGSport

I'm a fan of the AA single mid sound, if you go catless you cant go wrong with any of them really, just dont do the dinan mid pipe that keeps the secondary cat, its so fucking quiet i wish I never bought it.

I have a X3 MC but the mid pipe is identical to the X4 M. I went with the Evolution and love it except cold start. Too tinny for me but I’m used to a V8 rumble.

I'm catless and scared of getting a rasp. This engine has an awful sound in upshifts.
I'm afraid of getting this shitty upshift sound at 0:52, which is already pretty bad with catless downpipes.

I’ve heard you probably want to avoid the ER if cat-less. Perhaps look at the Dinan Xpipe. Keeps the secondary cats but removes the resonator.

I read somewhere that AA is adding a resonated version of the midpipe. The more resonators, the better. Maybe I should find a local shop and get one custom made :

I considered this before getting my AA midpipe and with the current raw material and labor rates (at least in IL) every shop wanted $2000-$3000...

I would think the secondary cats are the main restriction, not the resonator. Resonator would in theory help with rasp and not make the pops bang bang

I listened to that video and I have the Dinan X pipe installed in my X4MC, I am very happy with it. Dinan as a company is horrible, but the actual product I am happy with. That sound in the video at 52 seconds is not representative of what I hear in my car. I think the sound is distortion from the mic or recording, I dont have that rasp.
I had a mid pipe installed and it sounded great except on cold start and on the newer cars you cannot tune out the cold start. It was so loud and annoying that I removed the mid pipe after one day. Great in every other way but, couldnt live with that cold start volume and not have someone call the cops... |

https://youtube.com/shorts/dJ41y_FblTQ?feature=share installed. Over all satisfied with the sound it can be loud when you want it and you can drive it in a civil mode without scaring people.
