I used expert mode in the BimmerCode app and a guide from this site to do it.

Enhanced Bluetooth (6NS): Add 6NS to your FA. VO Code HU_NBT. Then follow these steps after for your iPhone to pair properly (thank you @skalberti): Then you have to remove all bluetooth devices and re add them. And then configure them like Shawn said. Now for text messages to show up, go to the bluetooth menu on your phone, look for your last 5 of your vin. Hit info incon on the right. Check and make sure "show notifications" and "sync contacts" are checked on. Now whenever you're in your car and someone texts you an envelope icon will appear on your idrive. Now you can use Siri hands free and ask her to read your new texts. Then she'll give you the option to reply if you want. To get emails to show up, after your in your car and the phone is connected, double tap the home button and close the mail app that's running in the background. If it's not running in the background go ahead and click on the mail app after your phone has connected to your car. Now emails will show up and they can be read to you. Keep in mind, the idrive will only alert you of messages received while connect to your car. If you received a message before you get in your car, it won't display it after you connect to your car. Also, if you're having issues with Phone 2 not showing up, try this: "Options-scroll down-Configure bluetooth, and tick Telephone 2 and Office. You can then assign the 1 or 2 to each paired telephone."

For anyone who loses their OFFICE menu in your iDrive, go to HU_NBT / MACRO_PIM / make sure it is set to aktiv. @abhiku's for some reason got deactivated (not sure what happened or how), but it needs to be aktiv for the OFFICE menu to show.

If for some reason, your OFFICE is having issues, make sure all the ones in HU_NBT below are set to aktiv - this will give you the full functionality to make your OFFICE (6NS) to work correctly:

SMS_EIN_AUS
CONTACTS_EIN_AUS
CALENDAR_EIN_AUS
TEXT_NOTES_EIN_AUS
AUDIO_NOTES_EIN_AUS

Programming the remote to only close and not open the tailgate still doesn't work for me. Has anyone figured out how in expert mode to prevent my tailgate from accidentally opening?

I'd like to make it so the tailgate requires a long press to open. Or disable it from remote opening is fine too really, never use the remote. And/or how to make it so the tailgate only remote opens while locked. Maybe that would help.

Seems like it's possible in expert mode.

There are two settings that need to be changed. Forget which ones exactly but they are listed...

In expert mode? Doing it in regular mode doesn't work right.

It is so much more relaxed. The alerts are not as jarring as default sounds.
Where did you do this - in what section/category?

For anyone coding with Bimmercode (or having their software updated at the dealer), make sure you back-up your Profile settings to a USB device. It's simple to do, and it keeps all of your infotainment settings and anything else that gets assigned to a Profile. When I did some coding with Bimmercode over the weekend, it wiped out my presets, including the 7 user-defined ones on the dash. But it's very easy to restore from the USB drive (under Profiles).

Exporting a driver profile
Most of the settings of the currently used driver profile can be exported.

Exporting can be useful for backing up and calling up personal settings, for example before taking the vehicle into a workshop. Once backed up, the driver profiles can be taken into a different vehicle.

Via iDrive:
  1. My Vehicle"
  2. "Driver profiles"
  3. Select a driver profile.
  4. "Export driver profile"
  5. Select a medium for exporting the driver profile.

That will only happen if coding head-unit (eg, removing disclaimers).

Would want to enable SLI on UK X3.

I appear to have KAFAS cameras (they are visible behind mirror), my X3 is for UK market and has few safety add-ons, and I do have adaptive LEDs, high beam assist, pedestrian warning.

Who can help with generating an FSC code for me on this forum please?

Thanks!

This thread has been quiet...

I am pretty sure I know the answer to this, but figured I should ask to be sure...

Can you code ACC Distance to be 2 bars by default instead of 4 using Bimmercode? Or is this something that can only be done in E_Sys? Not sure which module this would be in for a G01... But guessing that BimmerCode cannot access that module?

Otherwise I have everything else exactly the way I want (using basic and expert mode in Bimmercode)...except HUD Turn Signals which I am painfully aware (now) will not work on G01 at all...

I have an E-Sys cable, but have not touched E-Sys in 3 years. Laptop I used then is FUBAR so would have to start all over on my MacBook Pro (circa 2012)... Not sure I want to go to all that trouble just for the ACC Distance ...maybe the Active Blind Spot at lower speed, and maybe a couple other small things...

Should be possible, since it seems to remember the distance value for me here as coded for Swedish market from factory.
(With e-sys that is... )
I plan to read my FA and cafd files soon, and can then search and look at my values.

Is there any way to add turn signals to the HUD screen or any additional items on there besides speedo and navigation? Also, is it possible to add speed zone limit to the cluster like the European models have?
