As an owner of a dozen (if not 3 dozen) lightning power cords that no longer function, I was not surprised when the lightning to RJ45 adapter I used with the cable stopped working and I got the "cannot connect" message.

I used the original Lightning to RJ45 many many times without issue. Then, one day it just stopped working. Tried about 10-15 more times and nothing.

I tried replacing the ENiT cable first, nope.

I have a new lightning to RJ45 adapter on the way from Amazon.

This may help all of you that cannot get the cables to connect when you do all the right steps.

(BTW...I consider myself a power user of Beemercode. I have found all sorts of neat changes that I have shared with this forum).

Coded it by Carly to show pressure and temp.

This is what I got from Amazon. You will need an ENET (female) to Lighting cable adapter if you have Apple devices.

Since my car went in last month for the camera recall software update, I've noticed that only the drl's light up when I unlock the car, but before it was the low beams (which I preferred). I can't remember whether I coded this last time on BimmerCode through expert mode or whether the car came with it enabled.

Any ideas?

Well that gives me something to do today...

This doesn't work on it's own.

You also have to edit a file on the drive called carplay.ini with updated settings to get it to work the way you expect.

But you can't get to the file unless you enable ssh - something you can only do with tools like HUTOOL

Can you describe what you coded in an attempt to disable the driver profile startup screen? Knowing what you already did and found not to have an effect will save us time.

Can anyone please recommend one from Ebay that they've successfully used?

Hi all - question about expert mode on Bimmercode. Is it normal behavior to not have expert mode available on every ECU? I am noticing it is available on some, not others, in particular, i don't see it available on the MGU ECU. I have a 2020 M40i by the way. thanks

After reading all 105 pages in this thread (yes, coronavirus is giving me sometime at home now here is Spain...), I am ready to start playing as I received today an OBDLink MX from Amazon.

Regarding M MENU, I am very curious about the M-HUD...can you check that option? Does it make any difference? I really would like to have the M-HUD with the rev. counter...

None of this is settable. None of it does anything on mine.

It would be impressive if someone with the F97 steering wheel could determine if the simple swap to a wheel with M1 and M2 enables this!

Good for you that you read them instead of asking the same questions over and over again.

Thank you for the question. The setting adds an M-Menu to the options/menu but I cannot determine that anything changes. The settings are there and available, but you cannot choose them.

I was able to check the box of Heads-Up M-View after several times trying. I have to assume that I flipped another bit somewhere when I was playing around in Expert Mode and that allowed me to check it.


However, it did not change my HUD (I suspect because I still cannot check the M-View box under HUD).

Stay tuned for something else that I found. I need to take pictures and also flip it back/forth in an effort to confirm that it was a new setting. Specifially, I now have an option of Lumbar adjustment (automatically??) when I go into Sport Mode. Stay tuned for testing and pictures.
