Finally got my break-in service done - wow!

After almost 6 months I managed to eek 1200 miles on the ODO (I take the train when I was going into the office so I don't drive much). The dealer had it it for the long weekend as I had some other stuff (software update, carpet defect in the hatch) on the list.

After picking it up I finally drove the X3MC the way it was intended. I jumped on the highway in sport+ across the board...

My god!

I'm shocked at how much power this thing has. I was cruising at 90 and nailed the gas - I was instantly thrown back in my seat and up to 120! It's like a friggin' bullet!

As corners were approaching I had to let off but had some additional fun on the way home.

It has been a long time that a car scared me and I literally walked away with my hands shaking.

Well done BMW...well done

Great mini-review. X4MC is on my short list precisely due to the same traits.

lmao yeah that's pretty crazy right? I am from South Florida, but currently residing in Colorado so when I bought the car in FL, my road trip back was my break in service done in Tennessee!

8k miles on mine despite being shipped over to Italy then back to Maryland. The Texas to Maryland drive definitely helped rack up the miles. But BIS was accomplished back in Italy nonetheless... Thank God I got to enjoy it a bit before shipping it back to the US.

I got mine in mid November.... had a road trip planned for year end so I used every excuse I could find to go driving. In abt a month I did 1100 miles and did the RIS. It’s plenty fun being able to rev it higher and harder. I often get “was that necessary?” From the wife while we are out when I gun it

I know! If you can imagine I'm driving more than I drove my 2005 E46 M3 (I have another truck that I drove).

The M3 was sold to fund a portion of the X3M. After nearly 15 years I had 28k on it

I wanted a vehicle which had performance and was comfortable enough as a DD. This car (SAV) fits the bill.

Where I live things are pretty close so I don't go very far...apparently.

This is another reason why I didn't lease as I would be paying for mileage I don't need (along with other factors).

Now my truck sits unused for the most part..but it has 143k so I'm ok saving mileage on that.

It would have taken me almost as long to hit my 1200 miles if I hadn't bought the vehicle out of state & driven it home! I managed to put about 450 miles on it doing that, so I got a nice start.

I've got short commute, so I only tend to put around 6K miles a year on my daily drivers. Plus, we've got other toys to play with, so I tend to opt for one of the 911s when I don't have haul stuff around.

You're right - the car is wicked fast & responsive. I'm finding of late that even when I don't need a hauler, I've reached for the keys. It's just a fun car to drive.

I still have my E46 M3 and it’s still under 30K

Yes, we're very lucky to be able to have these cars. We definitely appreciate every minute of it.
