BM3 Log update with some e85

Ambient temp: 85 degrees Fahrenheit
Elevation: 500-750ft above sea level
Note: most of these were done using manual and then flooring it (not kickdown) while 2.5K-3K RPM. I also tested the gas and ethanol at the pump.

Tune: Stage 1 - 91 Octane
Gas: Shell 93 Nitro+
https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5ed0...0b4346a423b18e
https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5ed0...729b5a08bd5c74
with kickdown and auto D3:
https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5ed0...90c655ccf3cdb0

Tune: Stage 1 - 91 Octane
Gas: ~e26 (26% ethanol)
Notes: timing looks better but not as good as expected
https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5ed0...729b5a8ce288e9
-starting to look better:
https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5ed0...729b5a8ce288ef

Tune: Stage 1 - 93 Octane
Gas: ~e26 (26% ethanol)
Notes: looks better! HPFP doesn't seem to have any issue and hitting closer to target boost, thoughts?
https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5ed0...729b5a08bd5ce9
https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5ed0...0b434621ac4c71
https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=5ed0...90c655ccf3ce23

Verdict: I continue to love e85 My old N55 motor ran 100% e85 for 60K miles.
I'm going to test e40 on the e30 map next.

Looks like U.S. gas sucks IMO... I don’t think the EU has this problem and needs E.

The E blend (did you test the E85 content?) seems to work very well, how does it feel?

Also I’m on my phone but see 0 knock with E blend

Yeah i dont see any knock either. Yeah but I did notice improvement when using shell 93 in my old car (butt dyno).

Yes, I tested the gas at the pump. Their 93 was 10% ethanol and their e85 was 85% ethanol. Everytime i've tested their gas and ethanol it's always spot on!
-Updated the original post to say i actually tested the gas.

Case in point why you need to test... just tested this “E85” and clearly not E85... it’s E70

Yeah, I learned long ago to never trust it. Get weird looks at the gas station each time lol. I'm still wanting this:

Can’t trust those ethanol sensors. They do not distinguish between ethanol and water and there is always some water in the gasoline. In fact, the higher the ethanol content the more water will be in that fuel (azeotropic mixture).

Right, but the little test tube does the same test. It's much easier than testing it in a little tube each time. Also, i'll do a log review after using a bit of gas before continuing to do pulls.

Is that product called "Boost Donkey"? Edit- from the still photo I couldn't tell. Watched the video and see it was monkey. I know test cars are referred to as mules sometimes, so I thought the kit might have been called boost donkey, which would have been hilarious. I guess boost monkey works too as you monkey around with your mixture. Alright, enough of this monkey business. Just got a craving for bananas. Gotta go.....

I got word back from PTF. They recommended going to a lower tune or increase octane. I sent them the stage 1 93 tune logs while running e25. We'll see what they say.

I also just filled up with e35. I'll take another log and see how the stage 1 93 tune does on it and may also test the stage 1 e30 tune

I think I’ll be switching to an E30 map and will be running on E35-40 gas. Probably the safest option at this point.

Got a lean code for e35 on the Stage 1 - 93 map and timing was off. Somewhat expected that.

Going to switch to the e85 map and test

E35?! Yikes, stock can handle E25 max, I would say for any stage 1 due to boost increase to keep it around E20.

This can flow e50 with even higher boost with the stock HPFP. AFR was around 12.7. Just wanted to see the point of diminishing returns.

Going to load the e30 map and test.

With my old car the HPFP could flow e60 stock with an upgraded LPFP.

The stock S55 HPFP can run 100% e85 if I'm not mistaken.

Tune: BM3 Stage 1 - e30
Fuel: e35
Elevation: 500-750ft above sea level
Note: Done using manual (no kickdown) from 2.5k-3K rpm. AFR around 13. Looks good to me. Thoughts?

Looks similar to what I’ve seen for E30 logs, a/f a bit higher, boost a bit higher and timing a bit higher, nice.

Correct it can flow but if the DME isn’t programmed to adjust to that high E then you will do exactly what it did and think it’s flowing enough fuel when it’s not.

Gotcha, anyway e30 map with e35 looks to be running the best!

I don't have one, already $1000 extra spent on little goodies lol. I guess that'll be on the list for next purchases.

You need to test your e85 at the pump and your 93 to determine actual ethanol content of both. Then you can use an app to calculate e35 which is what im running in that log.

Ethanol tester:
Boost Monkey E-85 Fuel Test Kit - Ethanol Percentage Sample Test https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08132XZBX..._LV80EbAHGR5MC

Here is the app I use:
