Looks to be the same colour as mine. Sophisto grey in UK, also called Dark Graphite elsewhere.

Can we all agree how much better looking the X4M is as an M SUV... I genuinely feel sorry for the owner, every time I pass an X3M on the road.. and they almost always look the other way knowing it.

I'm not even sorry, its just a fact... and us X4M owners swallowed WAY too much crap in the early days while everyone was still comparing it to a minivan talking about its ikea practicality.

Point is, you can lower an x3m all you like.. it wont drive any faster, and certainly wont look any cooler... its a fast sleeper, and a great one too... but don't kid yourselves, no one is turning their head to check out that x3m

"Can we all agree...."

lol - no we cannot. You just cannot agree on individual taste. When we bought the GF's 2021 M40i - we looked at the X4M. IMHO - stock, the X4M is not up to snuff. You **have to lower that vehicle. It looks jacked up stock. After lowering an X4M, it does look great - to the right buyer. You can get away w/ an X3M with stock springs. An X4M, no way.

When I realized my M4comp was never going to be a daily - I needed something else. GF said, why not get an X3M. I never considered the X4M - just not my taste. My pup loves the rear boot too, in this car.

My newly lower BSM X3M looks great w/ the Eibachs. It's a sporty SUV. And I love - that it is a wolf in sheep's clothing. It bothers me NOT if no one turns there head.

Great ride height and a reasonable difference in the comfort too.
You can’t take away the 40 profile tyres or hard dampers but the springs have a softer compress and rebound.
£230ish on AUTODOC plus fitting, money well spent.
By no means ‘top luxurious’ comfort but certainly takes away that harsh bounce.
Looks great!

No one ever mentions that you have a high quality set of German engineered springs (that should last forever), instead of a composite set w/ moving parts/adjustable parts/locking rings, etc.

I've got same kit in my X3M w/ 12mm bimmecs.

Strong!

Just also added comment to the ‘what did u do to your X3M / X4M thread. However thought it would be good for a separate thread incase anyone else thinking of the mod too with questions etc.
Not the simplest job to watch as it requires pretty much most of the boot trim removing to get at the rears. However 3-4 hours later all done.
Really pleased with the drop circa 25mm and a nice and even drop front to rear. 10mm spacers just enough IMO.
Almost the stance & look I personally would have expected as OEM from factory.
For comfort, yes notice a slight increase in comfort but time will Tell over some further mixed driving.
Assume that they will settle in more too.
Looks really good mate.. I’m so undecided myself whether to go down the H&R route or Eibach, very little £ in it, just torn on which one is the better spring! For comfort & look.

Comfort level has definitely improved with the Eibachs. I switch from comfort to sport to sports plus suspension depending on the road all feel good on the road.

I was the same. Also Unsure of which one to choose.
I found better feedback for the Eibach hence went with them.
Really pleased.
Also AUTODOC online had a v good price on them.

Good to hear. Thinking I’m leaning Eibach, both have good reviews from owners so I don’t think I can go wrong really!

I also went for 10mm. You can see from the first few pics in this post that with PS4s they sit pretty much flush with the arches.
Just about to fit some mud guards as I have noticed a bit of road rash.
Just arrived from EBay and look real good. OEM style. I will post a few pics when fitted.

The improvements in comfort is only slight. Just enough to take the edge off what I felt a little too harsh for a daily. Personal opinion.
The handling is still excellent.
I feel that the X4MC Still handles better than my F83 competition and M240 F23. Amazing for an SUV.

No the driving is absolutely fine.
Just right for my commute when in comfort and tightens right up in the sport plus settings.
My setup is Eibach pro kit and Michelin PS4s summers with 10mm spacers allround.
It was fine previously but just a little too harsh for me as a daily, of which it is mostly used for.

Yep I agree with this. For me initial the car felt softer around the corners but actually it feels better. Because the centre if gravity has come down by approx 40mm the car has greatly reduced body roll while adding compliance, so really if you're taking a corner and the road isn't smooth, the car is less likely to hop or feel unsettled. Overall a better feel.

Hard for me to judge really as I don’t drive it hard enough to notice. My M4 maybe.

I also changed the springs shortly after buying the car so never had long enough with standard springs to many any hard comparison.
It is fine for me. Can’t think of a better allround package.
