2010 x3 vacuum hose from driver side

i removed the intake on the x3 to replace starter and fix the CCV leaking oil all over the top of motor.

found it was not the starter but the ground strap had corroded and turned green. when removing it was so brittle it crumbled in my hand.. clue is that the x would stall once in a while for no reason. quite dangerous! And lucky only happened when x was cold and driving in the neighborhood... but i digress

There is a 1/8" dia. (give or take) vacuum line that disappears into the firewall in front of the driver side that goes into a 90* plastic fitting and points straight to the front of the car in front of the driver... near the brake booster... can anyone please advise where that hose goes? it is about two feet long and could go into intake but no where to connect. and cannot reach the vacuum pump plus no place to connect there anyway... thoughts? .... may have been disconnected when i removed the intake.

You may want to ask over at Bimmerfest, their E83 forum is a bit more active.
