Delivered - X3MC in BSM with Black Merino!

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Had some time early this morning so wanted to share a few quick pictures and thoughts after picking her up yesterday.

What an amazing combination of utility and performance for our family - thanks BMW! Much has been written in reviews and in M Town Drives (mine included) so I won't repeat here, but it absolutely meets my expectations. Still have a few settings to tweak, but I've got everything moved over from the G01 so now just need some time to familiarize with the driving experience.

Definitely one of the most perceptive (if that's the correct term) vehicles I've ever driven, most likely because of it's M engine/transmission and suspension components I guess. I know there has been some comments on low RPM lag, but I drove in manual shift mode all day today so can't comment on that - to me it seems lightning quick. And I must not be accustomed to plush rides as the suspension seems great to me (in Comfort - haven't tried Sport yet), unlike many who have complained of such.

And for those interested, I was able to use the ASD Bypass harness from the G01 which I installed this morning. As I suspected, now pushing the 'engine sound' button on the center column does little while driving with the ASD bypassed, so I still think it must just be augmenting the artificial engine sound inside the cabin for those who desire such. As I enjoy music while driving, I can say the bypass has markedly improved the sonic fidelity (just as it did for us in our personal opinion in our G01).

There is not currently any option to get a Carbon Roof. Give it a little time though...someone will put carbon look stickers, I mean wrap, on their sunroof delete. 😏

Max, it's a gorgeous ride. Love that interior shot as well; that's the same combination I chose! Why only the partial rear debadge? I'm gonna ppf my car on all sides and do a complete rear debadge. Full on stealth!

Knew it was probably a pipe dream to even bring it up in that CFRP roof thread, but I would’ve optioned it had they offered. At least we were able to option out of the moon roof (and delete the spare).

Ha! Arciga18 remembers my DIY pillow thread! They actually have been great to have as some family members have lumbar issues, so they’ve gotten some good use on longer trips. And given their size, if folks don’t need them, one fits in the center armrest cavity and the other serves as a comfortable cushion for the forearms for both L/R passengers (including an image here to show, and also some images of the ASD Bypass install).

Thanks, and good question, MrItaly. One of the reasons I chose BSM was to allow the rails and fake breathers to blend in with the paint. For some reason that aesthetic appeals more to my eyes, allowing the F97's overall lines to blend rather than any one aspect being highlighted. As the ‘Competition’ lettering is really visible the rear end appeared cluttered to me. Plus I don’t wish to advertise to Law Enforcement that I’m looking for a race on their streets (and actually a Sheriff slowed in the passing lane on my way home from picking her up and tailed me for quite a ways – maybe he was just interested in a closer look)!! But the Black lettering of the X3 makes it almost invisible so thought I’d leave that. I kind of wish the fake breather and front grill X3 emblems had similar black lettering…

Thanks, TJS – I agree, had my fingers crossed we'd get the Michelins!
