Maybe, but I don’t know what colors/options they had planned before I took over the allocation and made it to my specifications, so I can’t say if it was originally planned to have carbon fiber or not.

Oooooh boy. I was originally week 42 but got bumped up to week 41. I check the status every day. I'm still just scheduled. Hopefully I'm not far behind you! Mine is extended shadowline, driver assistance, parking assistance, premium, black leather, open pore ash, HK and 787s.

I don't understand why our 30i msport is still at week 44 when others with all of the same options have gone in after us and will be finished first. We ordered on Aug 21. Ours was a dealer order scheduled for week 38 originally, then changed to our build and set as a Priority 1 (Sold customer car). It went from 38 to 40 then to 44 (and is still there as of today). Doesn't make sense. The genius line today could not give me a reason why either.

I ordered on 8/28. Started with week 35. Priority 1 here. Went to week 44. A week later it week 48. A week later week 47. That’s where I am now. Very frustrating.

So my dealer let me take over one of his week 44 slots. Just looked at the order and it has priority - 3 (priority stock) then my name for customer. Should I
push him to change that? I’d like the vehicle as soon as possible and don’t know if that will make a difference in it getting pushed back or moved up in the production que.

The bottom line is we will get our order when it comes.

From the looks of things it's a mess for production. Until your build status changes to "Production Scheduled or Production Begins anything can happen. The week can change week to week. Mine has changed 4 times in less than a month. They run out of parts and the Order Received Status builds just get pushed back.

Everybody wants cars and there are no parts. The standard wheels for the M-Sport Package are having supply issues. They keep changing what options you can get with which vehicles. Higher level X3s get all the options, lower levels don't. X3 30i Extended Shadow Line Package is no longer available. Same goes for Harmon Kardon, Parking Assistance, Parking Assistance Pro.

This is the first time I ever ordered a factory vehicle. I only did it because there were none on the lots.

Well, this is the second car I’ve ordered and I think BMW prioritizes customer builds over stock builds because of the shortage. That is why I’m questioning the priority 3 vs priority 1 status. Obviously I’ll get the car when I get the car but anything I can do to help the cause I will.

Yes, I would ask for them to change it to Priority 1 / Sold order. With all of the delays happening you don't want to get pushed to the back of the line.

I asked my dealer to find out why my X3 40i order placed on 8/20 went from week 41 to 48. I was told that the latest bulletin they have from BMW indicates it was due to the extended shadow line package and the HUD on my build sheet.

I have posted this in a couple of other threads - but, Jon over at Bimmerfest posted the bulletins from BMW about what is being decontented. The bulletin confirmed SiriusXM/HD is being removed from ALL X3 and X4 variants, however the bulletin implies there will be a retrofit option available once the parts shortage eases. It will result in a $350 credit.

HUDs, Shadowline (ZHO) and the usual M Sport 19” tire (887) are not available on the X3 30i or X4 30i. ZPP is being replaced with the Premium Pack 2 without HUD.

So your 40i should be OK for the Shadowline and the HUD.

I think we're in the same boat. Our 30i keeps getting pushed back (week 44 now) but as of yesterday it still had the HUD and shadowline on the build sheet. As opposed to others that already show hud removed and Premium package 2 instead. I'm optimistically hoping our production number was before the cutoff where the options were removed. We did lose SXM though, just like everyone else.

Well, as of now, you will have what you ordered because it’s a 40i (except Sirius/HD).

I say “as of now” because no one knows how the global shortages are going to go. You’ve been pushed out because they’re waiting for parts.
