Some number for ya Max.

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
https://f90.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1566247

Weights from my M5 Wheels above and HRE replacements.

Weights below are from the BMW Winter Rear. Using 32Lbs from the Pirelli spec, it puts the X3M wheel at 35.4lbs. VERY close to the M5 Factory wheel which was 34.6lbs front and 35.8LBS rear . All cast wheels so no surprises there.

Made another 1/4 run but barely missed the 1% spec on slope...you get what you get in the wild........

Thanks for sharing, onfireX5, and I especially enjoyed reviewing your F90 Thread. 54.8 lbs of unsprung weight removal would have to make a significant difference in performance, especially as that is rotational mass lowering as well. Would think that difference could definitely be measured at the drag strip.

Would be nice to be able to get the wheel weights of all of the F97/F98 OEM options, and make a table to compare with forged options. I'll be happy to make the spreadsheet if others can share the wheel weights when they're doing their winter changes (will need front and rear if sizes are different).

So the weight you show above is for the winter wheel (not our standard wheel)? What is it's BMW designation number?

Do you have pics with your HRE setup installed on the car? I see that you are running 295 on the back. No clearance issues with spacers (I saw that you had 11mm spacers all around in another thread)?

Thanks.

Spacers removed when I use the HRE.
Only stock wheels need help, the HRE P101SC is cut to the spec.
No rubbing at all.
Here is the quick picture. I have yet to do more work before I do photoshoot and create a build thread.

Ah I see, thanks.

Do the offsets on HRE wheels match the offsets on the stock wheels? Trying to determine if I will need spacers for 295 tires mounted on the stock wheels.

Thanks, r33_ ! That ~41 lbs is a significant unsprung weight savings as well - also should lead to some measurable differences at the track/strip.

Do we have any way to separate out the wheel and the tire weights? This is definitely good data to start, and I can begin making the spreadsheet, but in comparing cast vs forged etc, would make a clearer picture if apples to apples comparisons can be made.

Unfortunately not.

That will cost me $100 just to do that. Plus my time to go to tire shop, lol.

I would do it if I have my own tire mount and balance machine. But with the rate of me selling wheels, doesn't make sense to invest in them.
I see some shop only charge as low as $10/wheel to mount and balance. I only use them for my Honda Odyssey's stock wheels and tires, lol. Not on my $3000/each wheel.

The HRE wheels offset are the same as stock wheels with spacer.

With 295 on the rear, you only have about 1/8" clearance to the inner wheel well.

It is indeed.
I felt the car react better on the low end. But it could also be the RaceChip.

Awesome build for the track as long as the 255-295 is compliant on steering dynamics

I understand - no worries! I was mainly putting it out there if anyone does their own tire swaps and has an empty wheel laying around that it could be measured separately. Certainly not worth the cost or effort to do so just for the measurement, I agree!

So far it felt fine and didn't notice any difference.
The wheel and tire configuration are done by HRE's engineering team.
Knowing them been doing wheels so many years and all kind of cars and SUV, I trust their numbers to be 100% accurate.

Here is the picture of day 1 of my X3MC, straight to HRE for measurement.

I have yet to drive it more. I only drove it for 1 day with the wheels. Now it is at SEMA for a week.

I think in MDM mode, the 295 will help a lot.

Good to hear! I was worried that wider tires + spacers would stick out too much. But since they clear out without spacers, I am sold on 295s in the rear. ~3mm clearance isn't bad IMO.

These HRE wheels look great btw. Very aggressive yet classic look.

I did a quick math last week, I believe HRE setup is the same as going 12mm spacer all around.

If you are serious about going 295, PM me. And I'll do the real math and give you the correct wheel spacer thickness.

Yea, I felt this style is the best fit to this small SUV.
The finish is sick though. You gotta see it in person.

If not, here it is.

Stock 765M
21x9.5 with 255/40-21 @ 64.5LBS/each
21x10 with 265/40-21 @ 68.5LBS/each

HRE P101SC
21x9.5 with 255/40-21 @ 52LBS/each
21x11 with 295/35-21 @ 60.4LBS/each

This is my street wheel, I may get 20" and use R888R for track purpose.
Did HRE specify offsets? Typically they engrave them on the rear side of the wheels.

Would be really helpful for others to gauge what might fit!
