Wasn't there a S58 recal on a certain production of 2020 X3 M... ?

I was looking for the thread but couldn't seem to find in anywhere. And yes, I did use the search button feature. Please update this thread with a link to that thread or at least provide me with it's title.

I may be selling my 2021 X3 MC & replacing it with a low mileage 2020 X3 M. And I want to make sure the production date doesn't fall in that window / time slot. And come to think of it, maybe this was only for UK cars. If I remember correctly...

Out of curiosity, why go from a 2021 X3MC to a 2020?

I love my 2021 X3 MC but I can't stand the iDrive 7 system & the poor looks of the new instrument cluster. Thought I could adapt but every time I look at the counter clockwise RPM cluster it just doesn't flow the way the 2020 system did.

The iDrive 6 of the 2020 was a sweet spot in terms of classic looks. And my 2020 was a X3 M base (no-competition). So I always yearned for a touch more in all departments.

Love the dedication here. Couldn’t do it myself no matter how much I hate the inane 2021 instrument set up

Lol - that's awesome you are willing to downgrade to get the ID6.

I agree with the gauges - I really like the ID6 on my 2020 and really dislike the ID7 gauges.

That said, I'm shocked what I am able to get used to given enough time - and my cluster is usually too dim to see during the daytime thanks to the BMW dimming feature lol.

Good luck with the sale/purchase!

To me the 2020 models with the iD6 are not downgrades by any means. The LCI is a softer machine (some of the edge has been removed - from a suspension standpoint) & I still love the looks for the pre-LCI. So to me it would be an upgrade!

I hear ya. I actually bought a 2020 because of the gauges and more traditional design.

Given that the instrument panel is now simply a screen that can produce any images, I wish BMW would offer “heritage gauge” layouts. How cool would be be to toggle through options and have (digital) grey e46 M3 gauges on your X3M for example? Seems like a fun way to add customization and a missed opportunity.

I hope someday that option will become available. That would be mega sick if they did.
