I'd bet way more than 50awhp on anything but a conservative dyno... Firstly it takes a huge amount of power to get a 4400 + occupant + fuel from 10.8-10.9 to 10.57 than to get a 14 sec car to high 12s... almost 4 psi at the same ambient pressure, IAT, is usually about 30-50bhp by itself, 3 degrees of timing without any bad reactions is a lot of power and that power is right up in the rev range, and 15% more ethanol is quite a bit more 02, aside from the benfits of the added octance...which in an atmosphere made up of 70% Nitrogen allows for the combustion of ALOT more fuel... E70 vs E100 or E85, from what Ive read and second hand from s58 tuners and fuel pump ratings, maxes out the duty cycle of the injectors in cold climates and or lower altitudes, and basically is providing a cushion.... As I know ppl have run full ethanol in the summer, but run into issues when the climate makes abrpt changes... Did you regap your plugs? What brand plugs, what temp rating and what gap are you running? what peak boost are you hitting at what RPM? Your max timing advance? AFR (Well LAMBDA)? Inj Duty Cycle at peak HP? And lastly sub 3 secs 0-60, jesus...What did you best with the 1 ft rollout???

https://www.bootmod3.net/log?id=60ea968dc090c6677c780ff9 When revising the tune we went higher, but backed off for final revision. Plugs are stock but regapped, they seem to work well. If we go with “Tesla time” for the 0-60mph, deducting the roll out it’s actually a 2.57 sec time, so pretty incredible. |

Aerodynamics taking its toll on the x3 after 100mph.

Hmmmm....
Challengers have a horrible cross-sectional drag. Takes my Demon basically 2 miles to get over 200mph. (Fastest done by a Demon was 211 over 2 miles). A Challenger Redeye which what that looked to be is a 797 / high 10 sec car and weighs same as x3m basically. My TRX is 6900lb brickwall, but runs a 10.8 since it's over 800whp..... traps high 120s. Aerodynamics in my not so important opinion really isn't a huge factor til 140mph +. |

I'd suspect it is given that no E50 OTS maps are available. Just something to keep in mind, while the BM3 OTS maps are ok, good tuners can get a lot more out of them so it's not apples and apples here. |

On the weekend I went out to the track (circuit), it's the third time I have taken the X3M there.
I am running lowered coils, brake ducts, M5 calipers, PS Cup 2 tyres (275 all round) and a custom E70 fuel, zero bolt on mods. Car does a 10.5 1/4 mile @ 131mph. My car was the equal fourth fastest out of 30 around the circuit - lineball with a well modded A45S, with a McLaren, 918 Cayman and a 996 track car faster. Anyway, there were a few guys who came along who were placed in the entry levels groups, flashy cars, but no real track experience. They expected to get one back at lunch time when we ran some impromptu roll racing. We started from 30kph, racing to just under 200kph, so short by RR standards. My friend owns the Audi RS7 (stage 2 with some ethanol), he claims it makes 800hp. A reasonably comfortable win for me, quite a few car lengths over approx 400m. The Corvette was next. These are very rare in Aus, it runs "750hp" plates, so I assume it's a C7 ZR1 - factory supercharged. He was no match, well and truly into the rear view mirror quickly. Most satisfying of all though was racing a young guy in his Lamborghini Huracan 610-4. This race was very close, but still a clear win for the Dad wagon X3M, sending the crowd nuts seeing the supercar get bowled over. The only contender I didn't get to race was a McLaren 570, but apparently he and the Lambo were absolutely neck and neck, so likely would have been another win. |

BulkBen - Very nice. Was hoping to see some nice photos of your X3 M & those big M5 calipers behind the factory wheels. Please provide more specs on the aspect ratio for the 275 tires. I'm thinking of going 295/35 ZR 21 all around. Just need to order 2 more rear wheels & get spacers up front to clear everything!

Pretty close. I’m guessing my 21 with Racechip would lose by a small margin considering how close it was with a stage 2 flash with down pipes |

For some reason my X3M doesn't get too much attention from other drivers here in miami but last night on the freeway did a few pulls with an M340i and you can guess how that ended. Was surprised how many car lengths I put in front of him 😅.

Honestly, they are too narrow for the car on the track but it's the best I can do given the limited sizes available and the fact the car is a road car 99% of the time. My Mini Cooper S track toy runs 255's, so the BMW is only getting 20mm more tyre while it has double the power and 1750lb's more weight! I run the 265 and 295 combo 4S combo for the street, it's quite good but gets overwhelmed very quickly in anger on the track. |

Apologies, I have next to no track pics!
My favourite mod (Baby Shark) sticker can be seen on the rear windscreen. While this doesn't give any extra performance it has been known to greatly shame drivers of modded BMW coupes, Audi's, Corvettes and even Lambo's as it sails off into the distance. Cup 2's can be seen in a few pics. Note the pic comparing how a 275 looks on a 9.5 (front) vs 10.5 (rear) rim. I knew there would be a difference, but this surprised me how much more tyre you get on the ground when using a larger rim. |

BulkBen If it wasn't for you, I would've never known the M5 & X5M calipers fit our X3 M's. And yes, a wider wheel is better for this platform. The factory didn't give us enough rubber & like you said the contact patches are a touch small for this 4,600 lb SAV.
