Tow Hitch Cover coming undone? - 22 X3 M40i

Wondering if anyone else has experienced the rear tow hitch cover consistently falling out of place / coming undone. For context, this is on a 2022 x3 m40i.

I have to constantly pop it back into the rear bumper and I noticed it happens almost every time I go above ~80 Mph.

Not the end of the world - just a slight annoyance. If anyone has any remedies, I'm all ears!

Although a small dab of silicone adhesive at each corner should work. I'd complain to the dealer and ask for a new one. Trust me, in theory my previous X3 saw plenty of time over 80 and it never loosened.

Lol. When you REALLY need to use it, means you have bigger problems than prying open a small plastic cover.

But yes, just gluing the 4 corners should suffice.

Just put a hitch pin through the cover, it has holes for it. They're like $3 on Amazon if you don't already have one from a bike rack or hitch.

The only problem with a hitch pin is the rattle. OTOH, he could put a bolt through it and snug it down lightly. That would work.

Or, just get a cover that fits right. If it's the factory hitch, or one made from all BMW installed parts, it should be a warranty item.
