It is not true, I have it in my 2022 (Oct 21 Build).

The reason I called them was I wanted to make sure their listing is not just some generic specs templates. On that note, is there a way to check the actual specs for cars that are built and in transit?
I have PAP and Driver Lumbar on my 2023 X3 M40i I picked up last week. As far as PAP it is in limited supply, in my case, my dealer was able to add it to my order and it remained on my build. Driver lumbar is a different story, a number of members with early builds did not see it. A number of us with builds after week 36 and vernesca leather did get lumbar.

If you have a VIN you can check on https://www.mdecoder.com/ and that should give you most options.

Thanks for the link. I do see the following from the list:

S487 Lumbar support driver
S5DN Parking assistance system Plus

So that should mean the car has those options?

Yes, the Lumbar is 487. Parking Assistant Plus should be part of ZPK, make sure it also has ZX1 Active Park Distance Control and ZX3 Surround View w/3D View.

I don't see those in mdecoder but I do see ZPK in a vehicle inquiry sheet I asked from the dealer separately, so I think it should be there.

A more general question for everyone - I noticed that it does not have iDrive touch (S6UX Deletion BMW Controller touch function), how big of a deal is that?

I don't think it's a huge deal. I've had cars with it and never used it. Then again, now that it's not there, every once in a while, I miss it.

Not a big deal. I never used the touch on my other cars. As long as the touch screen is there you are good.

I was looking at some x3m videos and just wished my live cockpit could have the option to look the same.
Pretty sure you can code this using Bimmercode or another coding app. Check the Bimmercode thread for more info.

Album Art via USB stick?

Looking and searching through the threads I haven't found what I'm looking for, so sorry if this is answered somewhere else.

I have a specific directory on my PC where I keep the music that I import into the car. In my 2019 I did that and the album art appeared. Now that the hard drive is gone (thanks for another feature deletion BMW) and I have to play from a stick, I made up a new USB stick from the same directory. When I plug it into the car I get the album title, song title, and artist name, but no album art.

The stick is formatted FAT32 if that matters. Everything's there, just no album art.

Is there a decent set of instructions anywhere on how to export music to the stick so that the car will find the album art? I asked this of my BMW Genius guy and am waiting to hear back.

Thanks for reading

I have the same problem, too. Some songs do have the album art, though. I wonder if it's using some third party system like Gracenote?

I think it used to back in the day of the local HDD, not sure now. I'm hoping the Genius gets back to me.

I have all mine on a 1TB SSD that lives in the centre armrest. All the music is in FLAC format with embedded artwork, and shows up perfectly. My playlists are M3U files in the root directory and show up in iDrive 7 under "search".
My biggest complaint is the truncated song names due to the limitations of the half-width display screen.

At the risk of a repeat question I am going to play my "this is my first BMW" card and ask:

Is the speedometer over stated by 2 mphs?

And follow up question if so, is the odometer affected?

Following this. I've always thought they were, but I haven't checked in this car against a GPS kind of app.

Next question as long as we're on the audio topics...

If I'm going to plug my phone in to try and get better than bluetooth quality sound is there anything special I have to do? I plugged a USB to USBC cable from the USB port near the cub holders into my phone and when I plug it in or out I can't hear a difference. Am I missing a step? I have a Pixel 6 Pro if it matters.

Thanks for the reminder, I have a radar detector that has GPS speed. Boy, it's been a long week! I'll check it out this weekend and report back.

My Waze speed and car speed is always off by 2 MPH. So yeah it might be….Any scientific way to check?

Same here, steady 3 kms with summer and winter tires of different size.

On the list for next week service call.

WhiteIce speedometer tends to read about 2 mph faster than independent gps reading and random "Your Speed" signs.

Speedo's are required by law to be within a certain percentage of accurate. But that works in both reading too fast (indicated is 65mph but you are really doing 60mph) or reading too slow (flip it around). For safety and liability reasons, car manus will opt to make it read too fast instead of too slow.

"Here in the United States, a speedo can under-read or over-read by a small margin because its accuracy is mandated by the Society of Automotive Engineers. Over in Europe a speedometer isn't allowed to under-read at all."
