5k mile oil change

So Im coming up on 5k miles and Im wondering who got their oil changed at 5k and what oil you guys use? I know the dealer does it at every 10k. Thanks

I take it in to dealer every 5k. 200 for oil change and every other free through bmw. Unless your gonna do it yourself FCP has great return on oil and essentially becomes free after the 1st oil change. Then you can tailor the type of oil weight based on how you drive it/season or stick with the weight bmw recommends.

Castrol euro formula, 5W30 and a Mann oil filter. Takes 30 minutes and is about $60. I don’t do the FCP Euro route, but as another mentioned they have a lifetime service if you send back the used materials.

Sucks that PayPal decided to can their free return shipping program. At least I'm on the east coast so shipping back fluid isn't too costly

Do it yourself. So easy and do it right! $75 oil change kit from FCP Euro and lifetime replacement warranty. I do mine once annually, @ 5k miles.

Yep, don’t need some 16 year old grease monkey touching my shit. Nor do I need to pay BMW $200 to remove 1 drain bolt and a filter.

And you also don’t have to pay $X,XXX because said grease monkey gorilla’d on the drain bolt instead of spec, stripping the threads, causing a leak, necessitating an oil pan replacement (not to mention overtightening the oil filter cap and overfilling with the wrong weight oil).

I just did that last week for my L494 and SL55 AMG. I didn’t for the ‘19 30i since it only has 31k miles (pretty new to me) and good service history.

The FCP Euro oil change kit included the correct spec 0W-20 Liqui Moly Top Tec 6600.
