Remote Software Upgrade

Just installed the latest software upgrade. Any idea on any functionality it adds?

It just has some wording around how you can't drive within 20 minutes of starting the upgrade and that they fixed an issue where remote services can connect to any cellular network.

Upgraded mine the other day. Haven’t noticed anything new aside from it appearing that the interior light sensor that causes the dash, secondary screen, and HUD to dim/brighten is much more sensitive than before.

I feel like the Harmon Kardon system sounds better and has more bass!

The only "feature" I've really noticed is that I now get navigation instructions in the HUD from Apple Maps

Do upgrades occur automatically or do we need to do it ourselves?

Unfortunately the OTA update is not available to pre LCI X3.

2021 X3 and older have to go through the stealership to get an update.

So no updates occur "overnight" by BMW and all updates only occur in the stealership?

For X3 2021 and older, no Over The Air system software update. The 2022 has the required hardware for the OTA update.

You suppose to get Automatic Navigation Update when available???
