Long crank on 2.8
2013 2.8 has had numerous ‘long cranks’ over the 1.5 years I’ve owned it. It has happened with the engine cold and warm, and in all different kinds of weather. The cranks will last a solid 5 seconds until I take my foot off the break to stop it from killing the battery. Usually after 2 to 3 tries it will eventually start but it starts extremely sluggishly. Any idea what it can be? It stopped for about 2 months and now it has begun again. It happens maybe three times a week.

Well, there are a host of possible reasons - none of us out here can begin to zero in onit w/o more information.
My 'guess' would be fuel delivery related issue: possibly failing fuel pump, clogged injector(s), fuel contamination, etc. But that is only a guess. Best idea is start with getting car scanned for any fault codes, see what shows up and then go from there. Good luck/Bill |

Has the battery every been replaced? If it's a 2013 then the battery is probably 6 or so years old. maybe near the end of it's life and giving weak current.
