Bonnet catch BMW X3 2014

Hi my bmw x3 appears to have one bonnet catch on the drivers side , on the passenger side it looks like there should be one there but theres nothing there is this normal ?

Yes, but in the US the single "hood" catch is on the passenger side. Not sure what this "bonnet" stuff is all about.
