New Tech for an older beauty

Hello, I hope I have this post in the correct place. My best friend has a 2008 BMW X3 and loves it. It did not come with many of today's norms like touchscreen bluetooth or backup camera though. Her bday is at the end of the month and I have purchased some of those upgrades listed here.

Everything looks pretty straight forward, but I have concern with the reverse trigger. Is there a wire I can tap into by the head unit for the trigger or do I have to run it from the back reverse lights? Or if there is a better way plz advise, youtube mechanic here just trying to help my friend out. Thank you for your time and have a blessed day.

First of all, that camera will not fit the old E83 X3. I have not found a good solution. You have to tap into the reverse lights, but that's really not a big deal. The cable you have to run for the signal has an extra wire for that purpose.
