Probably this one:
https://www.bmwblog.com/2020/08/19/bmw-hybrids-recall/ PHEV recall: 4,500 BMW plug-in hybrids affected worldwide ... The recall spans across 11 different models: BMW 330e Sedan and Touring, 225xe Active Tourer, 530e Sedan and Touring, X1 and X2 xDrive25e, X3 xDrive30e, X5 xDrive45e, 745e and 745Le as well as the MINI Cooper SE Countryman. .. The recall says an internal inspections revealed that the welding beads on the high-voltage storage tank were not completely removed during production. This includes all of the above-named models from the component period March 13 to August,6 2020. |

I test drove the e30 last week and they told me that this has been resolved in vehicles that are currently being produced, but not on cars already on the dealers lot.
That being said, my salesman was really not very good, he claimed it "allowed the battery to only charge to 80%" which does not match up with this article whatsoever. He also claimed that "they don't know how to fix it yet and there is no estimated fix date." |

Went to the dealer today, and saw their screen showing that all PHEVs MY20 and MY21 across the entire portfolio have a stop sale.
Applies for vehicles manufactured from mid Feb through mid Sept 2020. Last edited by kbulo; 09-27-2020 at 06:22 PM.. |

Interesting. My X3e was built mid July and I took delivery a week later and haven't heard anything yet. Suspect as others have said, BMW is working on what the recall looks like. I'll be waiting to hear.

I hope he comes with more news soon! I didn't buy a X3 30e to use it only on petrol! |

The recall is having to do with charging of the HV battery. We have sent some cars back to BMW NA for this inspection already

So finally my car, after 5 weeks in Bremerhaven arrived to the port in Norway Thursday 2weeks ago.. got my hope up! turns out it was checked and cleared there last Thursday and was released to the dealer where it arrived yesterday BUT, now they say it again has a sales stop, and that they still don't know when it can be delivered. I'm turning nuts here, and there are no information what so ever about this new problem.. I heard from some other sources that it is something whit a battery cell that needs to be checked and maybe replaced. could be another 3-4 weeks

I just received delivery or a brand new X30E that doesn’t appear to have any recall open on it. You can punch in your VIN here: https://www.bmwusa.com/safety-and-emission-recalls.html

I have plugged the VIN of my wife's 2020 X3 30e delivered in mid-July into the BMW recall finder and it came back having no recalls listed. Whether or not this issue is still unfolding is not clear. We have been charging it without apparent issues. In fact, about 800 of the 1,200 miles on the car have been in EV mode.

Question for 2020 BMW x3 PHEV owner ? I have 47500 miles on my car. Started getting a loud noise after week in shop mechanic / shop forum came to the conclusion my front differential was bad- shocked relatively new vehicle. Anyway it gets better. My car has been in the shop for 3 months and counting earliest it will be ready is 50 days from today! The reason is they can’t the part and is on back order. It’s a 2020 not a antique 1965 BMW take your pick for. Model. I’ve had cars for 42 years and have never encountered this thou I’m new to BMW’s thank goodness. Question- Has anyone had this issue with their differential or any other parts on a newer BMW? But I have a had a number of great top shelf BMW loaners x5, x7, 4 series coupe which they had to chase me down to change for the X7- Too big we referred to it as a”My Cartel Car. So my hardship has been lessened haha.
