Is brake noise annoying?

I heard from many people who have IX3 say that brake noise is quite noticeable even inside the cabin. Is anybody here find the brake noise annoying?

If people are discussing the creaking when manouvering, then its not too annoying, but its not what you would expect from a £70k car.

See here at 7m33s:

Not heard any noises that annoy me at all. No creaking or noise under braking? If there was it would be back to dealer to stop it

I never test drove before putting my deposit down that is why I am worried. Thank you for your comment.

No brake noise from me either and to be fair majority of ‘braking’ is done under regenerate which i can only describe as a non intrusive whir

I filmed this in my driveway.

This has been like it since day 1 and I had seen the Carwow video before I took delivery so it wasnt a suprise.

Its not really annoying as its only when slowly maneuvering.

As others have said, regen braking takes care of things when slowing down or in traffic for example so its not heard then.

Is it the brakes or the suspension? I had a previous car with a squeaky shock absorber that sounded just like this. It did the same when I bounced the corner of the car.

I think its a combination of both. I had the same thoughts and tried bouncing it but its only when the wheels stop.

Tried doing the same on mine... Nothing.. May want to mention it to service center next time in, might just need some copper grease somewhere

Perhaps they've fixed in the new lots?

Mine sounds the same as in the video above.

It’s a tad annoying to me, but mainly because it’s not what you expect for such an expensive car. I wonder if the issue is that because most of the braking is done by regen, the brakes themselves get used rarely and at low speed so they get some surface corrosion and get squeaky?

It almost sounds like glazed pads that weren’t bedded in properly but that doesn’t seem to make any sense.

That said, other than the moaning brakes and the buggy My BMW app I can’t complain at all and it’s much better than the Merc I traded on it.

Yeah I just read the same thing from another forum. They mentioned that doing hard braking a few times should clear corrosion away. I don't have the car yet so I can't try this to see if it is the case or not.

I’ll give it a try this week and see if that changes the noise. Will report back.

Same here. It is not annoying to me too. But I hear very similar noises while driving on bumps or bumpy roads. Sometimes while slowing down without braking. That is very annoying. I wonder if anyone has the same and it is asked to service?

Driving on bumpy roads and slowing down without braking - it cannot be the brakes. Must be shock absorbers.

Agree it can't be brakes, if not using them. Wonder if it is the drivetrain, involving the regenerative feature.

So you don't hear any noise over bumps? I hear it even if I drive 10-20 km/h. It is like an old bed sound. Creaking actually. Should I bring it to the service?
