iX3 grill replacement
I have a 2022 iX3 LCI. Does anyone know if the grill can be replaced by a X3 grill (51135A36BD0)? Are these compatible?
It is not that I want all iX3 characteristics removed but I just like the X3 grill better. |

I'm also very keen on changing the grill. Preferably to the black M grill in this video.
Will look more into it when the car arrives. I think the grill would fit physically, but am unsure if the air vents/flaps will still work as expected |

Sort of
All I can tell you from trying to research this, is that from images, the grilles are very close but I think a more realistic approach is trying to remove the grilles from the metal looking surround, and replace just the inners as the bonnet notch is different.
I have had a hell of a time trying to remove mine to have a look though, they seem to be clipped in at the bottom rather than just the top as a normal G01. |

I am seriously considering this modification as i find the M Sport grill unsatisfying... wish i had the option to opt for the Pro . Reasonable pricing by AliExpress and given my delivery date is September 22, the grill would arrive in time. I am not so confident to carry out the work. If anyone has attempted this and has been successful please share info!!

I plan to give it a go on the day it arrives. I’m not the most mechanically savvy so I feel if I can manage ok then anyone should be fine.
I’ll upload pictures etc. if successful |

JM1883 i am excited for you! have you done any preliminary checks on the front grill of the IX3? i hope the others are wrong and that there is no link between the current grill and the cooling mechanism....

I’ve not no. But the AliExpress one looks more “open” than the existing one anyway, so if anything it would be more airflow & I can’t see how it could get too cold. So willing to give it a go

Also.....has anyone given any thought to replacing the rear diffuser of their IX3 Msport/Msport Pro? I can't say i am a fan of the silver/grey...if grill can be replaced to all black, it would make sense to look at replacing the rear too to get that full "black" look....

Don't have my car yet but I don't like the silver i badge on the shadowline grill. Thinking about just removing, plastidipping of replacing it with black highgloss version from aliexpress.
Anybody removed it? Taped on or is there a hole behind it? |

Interesting. I didn't notice a badge on the grill, but looking at pictures online it seems that some have it and some don't. Is it perhaps an LCI thing?
I've ordered mine with complete badge delete plus removal of the blue bits, curious to see if I'll get the i badge or not. Saying that, my black kidneys will be retrofitted, as I didn't want the black wing mirrors, so God knows what I'll get... |

it is taped..... use a wire behind it. 1 minute job. on mine i had to polish "the ghost " of the badge from the grill. sticker remover got rid of the glue remains but you could still see a dull outline of the i on the grill after its removal
