Sure. Although doesn’t look as cool, car rotates better around corners when driven above 8/10ths with more similar front/rear tire widths. Personally I prefer wider rears on the back all day long.

Considering I've yet to break 4k rpms... given 700mi into RIS I prefer curb appeal as well. Although not much wider at all, 275 seem to be a reasonable upsize without looking "riced out". |

Like several others here, I immediately upgraded to 295r/265f on the stock rims and THIS is how the vehicle should come stock!! (Certainly doesn’t look riced out!) And I’m still planning on 12mm spacers all around to complete the aggressive (though not obnoxious) stance. I believe BMW went with these small rims/wheels (265/255) to save weight and $$$. Not acceptable on an M competition model.

Yup, looks like 265's as big as you can go on the front without spacers (without rubbing.)

I"m very happy with the 295's in the rear from a looks perspective. Visually it makes a statement the OE setup just can't do. Performance wise...BMW M rarely gets it wrong. So it's probably faster with the OE sizes. |

I thinks it depends whether you plan any performance upgrades. If yes, wider rear tires will definitely help with the traction. Also consider that manufacturers sometimes opt to put narrower OE tires to improve the fuel economy and handling.
