I bought a set of universal mud flaps and made these today. It was a rare occasion where everything turned out exactly as planned.

I already have PPF but I wanted to add some additional protection for the winter.

Able to use all existing holes so no drilling required.

Thought I would share for others thinking about something that is a little better looking than the larger factory style splash guards available on eBay meant for the M40i I've seen used.

Nice. I went with the eBay mud flaps as I need something there now.

Eventually I would like to the ones that wrap around the fenders

These are great! Do you have a link to the generic guards you used in this DIY?

They look homemade, I don’t get the put cheap crap on an expensive car approach. Just buy the BMW ones that are made for the car.

I wonder if BMW will come out with more M Specific accessories for the X3m as they stated it is projected to be their best selling M car?

I received the eBay ones which are a rectangle with a curve cut out at the top. Looks like I’ll have to do some cardboard templates on the front.

I rather have super thin, unnoticeable guards than the atrociously large, eyesore stock guards

doubt it - they never did for the msport F30/31 and that was their best selling car of recent times?
