Full Screen CarPlay

I also have the FullScreen CarPlay.... but there is no way to come back ? I wonder what he means or is telling about...

That's a good question - would people whom get a copy of 'special aftermarket full screen CarPlay' get to use it when the original 1 year subscription expire?

I have seen these usb patching + flashing delivering two files, one to bring your system to wide screen, one to bring it back to original size. But maybe still patches.
The latter should make it possible for a service department to upgrade your car's software i-step level. Without knowing that you have had it patched. But the patch will probably not work on the car's new software level.

Do you still have the option of having the split screen? Does the carplay interface simply return to the two-thirds size in that scenario or does the split screen overlay and cut off one-third of carplay?

Once done when using CarPlay it is full screen only there is no option to change but idrive is still the same with split screen or full screen

I've just purchased a file on eBay and they supply a file to revert back to split screen CarPlay as well on request, it was only £18 so thought I would give it a go

I did this after reading column. $50 (link below) - got two files, one with patch, one to revert to original.

Mostly love it. Love the space for apps. Maps (Apple, Google, Waze) awesome! Missing split screen a little - music misses cover art, however in BMW apps / maps, cover art is still capable of being displayed in split view.

This may just be a coincidence but I seem to have lost all the connected drive functionality in the car after the patch for fullscreen carplay. I wasn't able to go down the USB route so did a remote session with a coder.

If I go to connected drive online everything shows up as being booked
They show up in car but if I try and use them just comes back with no connection.

I can send addresses to the car OK and the App communicates the car status OK as well

Has anyone had anything similar or knows how to resolve?

***All fixed log out in the car and then back in solved***

Just applied the full screen patch using the USB method to my March 2018 build car. Couldn't get the iDrive to reboot for the life of me..... once I tried with my phone in airplane mode so it was not connected it then would restart.

Now, anyone know Whatsapp won't read messages through CarPlay?

Turns out having FaceID security on WhatsApp stops CarPlay reading your messages.

For anyone that purchased this through eBay, there is a solution. The seller contacted me after seeing my post about the satellite radio not working on this forum. He sent me a new file and I can confirm it works as it should now and satellite radio is once again functional. Contact the seller and he will provide you with the corrected patch.

I just purchased this. Thanks for all the advice in the posts. I did mention to the seller that I have satellite radio, so I don't want to lose that. I also asked for the file to revert back to the original.

I am excited to try this.
