2019 X3 steering wheel scratch - any fixes?

Well this steering wheel got rubbed from many things (cardboard, my fingernails, clothes buttons etc) and survived all of it until recently. I think it might be my samsung smart watch with bezels but not sure. Used leather conditioning and thought it would miraculously disappear but didnt (helped smooth it though)

Anyway to fix this or some kit out there?

Youtube seems to have not much dyi as it seems steering wheel fixes like this is quite hard. I detail my car so things like this bother me

Contact a leather repair person in your area. There is no easy quick fix. Either the leather repair person will fix it or you will need to replace the steering wheel.

That's such a bummer...done it with a couple steering wheels. A product that helps swell the leather like leatherique oil can help minimize it but it will always be there.

Whole wheel. You can't replace just the leather from OEM.

The swelling made it acceptable for me personally.

I have damaged 3 BMW steering wheels like this in 530 x drive and X3. BMW do seem to use cheap leather compared to Audi, I never did this on any of my Audi’s
A decent leather restorer should be able to fix it up

You have any reccomendation (link)for a decent leather restorer? I was massaging it with chemical guys leather conditioner but obviously still there but did smooth it out . I see little indents and think i use like some needle and dab leather fillers but not sure how easy color matching is since so many shades of black

You have to be super careful. I wear shorts with a zip on each pocket and I've caught the bottom of the steering wheel a couple of times. Always cautious now and make sure the zipper is up and out of way.

it's actually harder to wreck than my audi S4. the audi had super buttery leather and since it was squishier it caught stuff more.... never got it looking right. I know some places sell a leather overwrap kit for sports wheels, and I think it was IND that sells the custom wheel options.... just a thought.

EDIT: not IND.... trying to find where I looked it up at and not finding the link to the company now....

I fixed my old ford steering wheel with vegetable oil. Initially it was still there but after awhile it disappeared. I would just give it time.

Is it leather?you just worked your way and massaged it one time? Or often

Anyone know what leather or color the steering wheel is for x3 2019?

Yes it was leather. I can’t remember exactly what I did. I think I let the oil sit for a few minutes. I did that for maybe 3 times on the same day. It improved but I could still see it but then it eventually disappeared.

Not sure if you missed it but there's an oil product specifically made for leather that will accomplish the swelling action needed to minimize the appearance..

Leatherique.

Leather is always leather, if it is the real thing. Difference is in the finish, whether the outer or inner side is used and so on, Also the care is than different for each finish. Not an expert or anything, just what I've learned over the years.
