2015 LCI Headlight covers

I'm still shopping around so I don't own one yet but I was thinking of some headlight protection covers (Lamin-X) for when I do get my X3. Are the headlight covers made of plastic or glass? My Land Rover has glass and they resist the sandblasting much better than plastic. Are there any difference in the covers between those with LED vs. Xenon?

plastic...if winters are very harsh, then you would want to use protection. For most, frequent wash/wax suffices.

BMW hasn't used glass lens in decades. Use a quality film to prolong the life of the the plastic lens.
