2011 X3 Tire Questions
I bought my X3 used, and knew it would need tires soon. My questions are the following:
1. Currently the car has the following tires - 235/60 R17 While they fit, not the size recommended on the inside of the door jam 2. Door jam Sticker says - 245/55 R17 I would assume I should go with this size? However, when I look for that size they seem to either be not available, or when I find them very expensive per tire. I guess ultimately I am wondering what tires you all would recommend, Brand, size, price that will be fine on my car, not damaging anything, and give a solid comfortable ride. |

Go with the door sticker info- you will gain tad bit on handling with the slightly lower profile/wider tires.
For daily driving a performance all-season tire is a good choice; if you're sticking with runflat type you might search posts on this forum for recommended brands. If you want a smoother more comfy ride you might consider regular tires, they are less 'stiff' on the sidewalks comparing to runflat- but of course you lose the ability to drive if the tires goes flat. Look at tires with tread wear ratings that are at/above UTOG 400 or so; that will give you reasonable tire lifespan. |
