PRE-LCI to LCI conversion almost done

Hey guys..

So I bought a 2011 BMW X3 xDrive35i with some light front end damage and decided to convert the car to LCI front and M-sport kit for the whole car.

What you need: (what I paid)

Front bumper ($130)
Front kidney grills ($65 for black double slot)
Front bumper center grill ($50)
Front bumper lower grill ($35)
Front bumper L+R bazels ($90)
Tow Hook Cover ($18)
Front bumper engine shield adapter ($40)
Headlight washer caps ($50)
LED fog lights L+R ($110)

Headlights (bi-xenon in this case) ($970)

M-Sport fender wheel arches (can't find the total price)
M-Sport side skirts L+R ($280)
M-Sport rear bumper ($120)
M-Sport diffuser (not bought yet)

I also installed high line LCI A/C heater control panel ($75)

Mods to come:

- Front lip
- Diffuser
- 20" wheels
- Quad Exhaust
- 6WA cluster
- Android upgrade
- N55 Downpipe (bought, needs to be install)
- Paint roof rails black

Also got my seat belts re-done at Safety Restore (original webbing was ugly and dirty)

pics (still in progress, just got it painted yesterday)

I'll be happy to answer your questions.

Also, I made some custom vinyl pieces for headlights to cover orange reflector (might make more if demand is high enough)

More pics to come!!!

A friend of mine try to do this but had lot of problem whit Headlights bi-xenon .
He never have headlight work well because coding , x3 f25 has the ZGW that probabli does not support the bi-xenon LCI headlight ...

I have issues with angel eyes, but I know that some headlights in europe that are not adaptive will work with pre-lci configuration

Jesus dude, you'll have over 5k invested in worthless cosmetic mods on a 2011 X3 when done. Should have just traded it in for an LCI you can pick one up for like 18k, with your trade in it would have been cheaper.....

Logically and financially I agree this is kinda dumb. However, it may be a goal or just fun for him to complete.

Financial logic & tuner forums don't really mix. It always baffles me that someone wants to come in and talk about how "dumb" someone else's project is. The point of projects is to be broke!

Someday I'm turning my X3 into a rally car (5-10 years from now). Could I do it with something else for way cheaper? SURE! But it feels good to do it to MY CAR.

Since when did the X3 become a tuner car? I think you've confused this with the F30 page.

well, n55 big turbo kit, aggressive drop and handling mod, and manual conversion, I believe it could be a good candidate for a tuner/track car.

I mean sure, people mod everything... but generally speaking the X3 isn't something you see lined up in the parking lots on a Friday night.

I bought the car for $4k with 32k miles on it

EDIT: total after paying for car and the whole conversion of exterior and some interior + paint cost me 11k (All BMW original parts used)

I hear you guys lol.. But like I have stated earlier, the deal on the X3 was hard to pass up, it cost me $11k after car + full conversion + paint. I have an Audi B8 S4 which is my personal car and I got this X3 for my wife and for mini road trips. F30 is too small and SQ5 is expensive to mod and N55 is way better on gas than the supercharged V6. X5 is also too big for me for now.

I feel like if BMW made an X3 M everyone would think the F25 chassis is worth modifying. Personally I do not see the difference between modifying an F30 vs F25 or even an F10. We can also say that F30 is a girls car and F10 is grandpas car. There is a lot more F30s around me driven by Starbucks chicks than modified F25s lol.

Hey X3SM thank you for sharing. That’s a really interesting project you have undertaken. I’m planning to look into body mods once I finish my current mechanical project. It’s a pity there are not really any decent (in my opinion) body kits for the F25. And yep before someone tells me I’m wasting my money as well with my project let me start by agreeing. This is compounded by the fact that don’t even really drive mine much. But what’s the cliche - it’s journey not the destination that matters. Well is often more fun anyway.

Thank you! I agree, it is fun! I found tons of OEM parts on eBay for the retrofit for very low prices.

The thing I love about my X3 is N55 + 8 speed tranny, this combo is glorious! Also the X3 is relatively light, I want to add sway bars from sport model and some springs to make the handling a bit more nimble.

Just kinda spitballing ideas here but someday I would like to do a 6WB gauge cluster in my car. I'd be happy to sell you my 6WA when your project is a little more down the road and when I am happy with my X3s performance and looks!

I am yet to buy the 6WB. But when I do, I'd like to try coding myself but should shit hit the fan I do have a guy that could remotely code for me!
