Thule roof bars. Which feet?
I've been looking at roof bars and from some sites they recommend the 753 feet.
I can't see how these would clamp onto the X3 rails. Anyone actually got a set could help?

That's perfect. Many thanks
I assume they're as good as the usual Thule products and no significant noise? |

Correct, there is some noise, but nothing significant.

Did you go for the "wing bars" or standard.

Go for the Thule areoblade. Looks much better and there is a channel in the blade to add attachments if you choose to.
This roof rack is expensive compared to other brands and over the BMW one made by Thule. But I think it looks better then all of the other racks on the market. Sadly This is the only time I've actually used my roof rack. |

Despite the possibility that the OEM BMW Roof Racks might be made by Thule, DO NOT BUY THEM - you will regret it. They are not made to the same quality as the Thule racks and do not attach with the same mechanism. The BMW racks will break and are not repairable...

Yes i have already decided to go for the black aeroblades. With the 753 foot kit, they will cost £206 here in the UK.
I'm a firm believer of "buy cheap, buy twice", so the thought of my £1k road bike on any other rack doesn't bear thinking about. |

I don't have a problem with that Thule might be better/less expensive than OEM, but I have OEM since two years, and no problem - nor do I see any coming.
Mine was purchased 2014 for X4 -new design? Markap, I saw your complaint in other Thread - I believe BMW has new design - now made by Thule. Last edited by Tjalle; 06-01-2016 at 12:13 AM.. |

Yakima has recently come out with towers to fit the flush rails. If I can sell my Thule, I'll get the Yakima - I have a bunch of Yakima stuff from other cars |

Hmmm...not sure what the 753 is, but if you go to Thule and enter your info, the recommended equipment for an x3 2011-2016 are:
Thule AeroBlade Edge 7603, Thule AeroBlade Edge 7603, KIT4023 The Thule AeroBlade Edge: The first complete rack system to integrate a low-profile, aerodynamic design with the strongest carrying capacity of any aftermarket rack. Or Thule AeroBlade ARB47, Thule Rapid Podium Foot Pack 460R, KIT4023 Thule Aeroblade Load Bars: Premium, aerodynamic load bars provide an exceptionally quiet ride and superior carrying performance. Thule Podium Foot Pack 460: Rapid Podium Foot Pack I've been looking at these for a little while now, and am leaning towards the second setup over oem. I think going with Thule over oem will probably allow me to have more accessory options in the future.

Turns out the UK website doesn't give the full kit. I should be buying the 4023 as well - that's the part that bolts into the feet and clamps the roof rail.
