Just saw this post.

I bought a salvage 2013 x3 35i (non m sport) and want to do the same you did with your salvage one.

About the headlights, did it was just plug and play (i mean to install the headlights to the mount, is it the same or do i have to change something)

Also, that steering wheel, what was the donor car? and did you had to do some coding/wiring? I want to do the same with the steering wheel.

Headlights are not pnp, you would need to change around the wiring in back of the plug. Your high beams, angel eyes and adaptive features will not work. To make all that work, you will need to first modify the control modules from your 2013 headlights (I can do it for you for a fee) then you will need to splice some wires inside the headlights. At this point you will have high-beams and adaptive, but no angel eyes. I personally don't care that much for angel eyes so I haven't done much to make them work. The other route is to convert everything to LCI, I mean the ZGW, FRM, NBT and your gauge cluster. This route unlike the first will require coding.

Steering wheel came from F30, its a direct fit. Plug and play depends on what features you have. If you want paddle shifters, you will need to run one wire. If you have heated steering wheel, you need to find a heated steering wheel or it won't work obviously.

Hello x3sm,

I am currently doing the same thing for my 2013 X3.
I updated the (non adaptive) xenons to the (non adaptive, European model) LCI xenons. I’m currently getting stuck on the wiring diagram, and coding the lights (which is obvious because the wiring is different).

I hope you can help.

With kind regards
Nick.

Hi OP, apologies for resurrecting such an old thread. Could you please provide more info on what was involved in getting the bixenons to work? I am in the same boat, I have a complete donor LCI car that I am taking the parts from. Cheers!
