Dropped the F83 in for the break in service. They gave me a new X3. Overall very nice vehicle. A few things I took note of:

* nice size - seems a bit bigger than my old F30
* quick shifting automatic with good pickup
* 20.6 mpg - not much better than my F83
* auto-hold (applies and releases parking
brake automatically when stopped) is a nice feature
* sync on hvac system - I wish they're add that to our cars
* auto PDC - nice feature
* huge sunroof and electric shade was nice if that's your thing.
* Dakota leather was not nearly as nice and high end feeling as the Marino.

With that said, can't wait to get me F83 back so I can really stretch its legs.

I was given a new X5 when I had my wife's car in the shop. I've owned an earlier model X5 diesel and the loaner was a 3.5i. I was shocked at how well it drove compared to mine. Quiet, great performance, pretty mpg, nice looks and comfortable. The mpg was impressive. The older 3.5 suffered from poor gas mileage because people were having to push it hard just to keep up with traffic. I liked it. They just need an "L" version so it can handle hauling bigger stuff in the back. Heard that's never going to happen though.

This.... we probably would have gotten an X7 if it had been out by last year... ended up with a MB GL350 Diesel.... really like it for the size / cargo capacity, comfy seats (even 3rd row!) and very nice ride for a big SUV. Looking forward to the X7 and reviews for next time though!

I got an M235i when I took my car in for the 1,200 mile maintenance service. I was going to do a write-up but never took the time to do so.

Great car. Fun car to drive. Reminds me of our old E46 330ci, but certainly much quicker. I could definitely be happy with it if I had budget constraints.

Cheaper materials of course. Back seats are totally useless. Definitely prefer my M3.

i currently have an x3 for a loaner as well, and i daily a e70 X5, non turbo

the n55 is a great engine,
but the x3 feels lacking compared to my e70 i know its 2 different vehicles but I'm less impressed then i though i would be

i actually prefer my e70 overall over it

I agree the new X3 and X5 are nice. I had an X3 loaner when I had the 1200 mile service done on the M3. The wife really liked it. Went looking and she decided she wanted the bigger X5. It should be here in a couple weeks. I will enjoy the open roof in the summer.

In addition to our M4 ZCP, we own a fully loaded MY15 X3 XDrive28d.

It is a great SUV, although the storage area behind the rear seats could stand to be a little bigger for its segment. We love the X3, however. The 2.0L N47 diesel is awesome and gets over 40mpg on the highway at reasonable speeds (70-75mph).

Plenty of torque and zero issues with acceleration in stock form. I actually hung quite well with an Audi S5 from 0-60mph before he started to pull away. That's pretty damn impressive for an 2L diesel SUV. The driver in the S5 couldn't believe his eyes, especially because he knew the X3 was the diesel version. I plan on tuning it soon.

My only issue wth the X3's N47 oil burner is how loud it is. The B47 supposedly attempts to fix this issue as it is much quieter.

I've never seen that good of mileage on mine. The best was about 38 mpg driving down from Colorado Springs to Oklahoma. Generally 70mph and below on that trip. The onboard computer showed 39.7.

Overall mileage over 26000 miles is about 31mpg.

Funny with your "Strech your legs" comment and your comment not much better gas mileage comment I was guessing an X5. Why would you expect an X3 to get much better gas mileage than an M4? Car should getter gas mileage than an SUV.

WHat is an F30? A pick-up truck?

I had one of those for a loaner for a month. Nice driving but reminds me of an old buick in styling interior and exterior. I guess I won't go on the F30 forum to tell them that. You say X3 for our vehicle but throw out some numbers for other BMWs. Why not just say 2013 328 or something?
