No, it's not.

And this is my biggest issue with Bimmercode.

For example, you can code ASD off (if you dare) but on my ISTA-P level, but the option that might turn it back on is listed as "unknown". IOW, it's risky to try to turn in back on using the app.

When queried, the developer replied that I could use a backup to turn it back on.

But that defeats the purported ease of use of the app. A restore could clobber or restore functions coded elsewhere in the app. And backups cannot be given meaningful names.

In short, it's kinda of a mess, at least for ASD.

I didn't drive mine to work today or I'd go out and try it to make sure.

I tested the above as well. It doesn't work as much as I wanted it to.

Should enabling HUD turn signals on G01 do anything? Doesn't for me.

Planning to hire someone to do some coding for me once I know what I want (so I can get it all done at once with no recodes), but in the meantime, badly need a solution for repeatedly opening the tailgate accidentally with the remote.

Not sure what the best solution is; requiring the doors to be unlocked for the remote to open the tailgate? Can I make it a double tap only? Or a very long hold? I'll settle for whatever I can do right now in BimmerCode.

In BimmerCode, in HKFM_2015, I changed "Tailgate remote operation mode" from its default of OPEN to CLOSE. I assumed this would change the remote tailgate button from only open to only close. After the change, the button both opens and closes the tailgate with a short hold. Forget if i could close it with the remote before the change. Didn't think so. Also can't tell if it requires a longer press to open than before.

The app doesn't let me Expert Mode in this ECU. So maybe nothing else I can try. Does anyone know how to make other changes to remote tailgate operation?

Curious why some want to do this? Car was engineered to open/close when necessary, why change that behaviour?

MAX Volume Limit?

One thing I would like to do that I haven't seen mentioned here yet is setting an upper limit for the stereo volume. Bimmercode can set the starting volume but I don't see any settings for MAX volume.

I have the Harman/Kardon upgrade and after setting up the EQ properly it seems dangerous to raise the volume any higher than 55-60% or else blowing the speakers becomes a real concern depending on the audio. Its been a common problem in past cars I've owned and driven that I would love to take steps to mitigate it in this car. I bought the upgrade so I don't have to replace the stereo, after all.

HUD Turnsignals do not work on F20/F3x/F8x or digital clusters.

Only codes I know that work on in BDC. You have choice of increasing duration to press or combinations of locking/unlocking.

I have not seen any coding as your described. The max volume reference on cheat sheets is the highest percent retained on next boot. So, if you set to 60%, then shutting down at 70% will resume at 60% and shutting down at 40% will resume at 40%.

Hi,

I tried to code (using BimmerCode tailgate module) tailgate/boot opening off from the key and it did nothing too - actually I think I’ve lost the ability to close from the key but open still works sadly

The FEM_BODY module doesn’t seem to be available on BimmerCode for the G01. Please: how else can we make it either not open, or open boot only after like a 10+ second hold without opening up and disabling the key (not keen on this) or buying a key wallet/case (also not too keen)? I have CA so I’m fine if the key doesn’t open the boot with a button. Too worried I’ll come back to an open and possibly damaged tailgate. I’ve read lots but nothing obvious and conclusive except maybe the key case.

Thanks!

The dealer (at least in the US) can code to not open the boot if the car is locked. That is enough of a patch for me to not open it inavertently.

Fem_Body is for F20/F3x/F8x.

The only way I know to fix is in BDC_Body.

Hi All,
I've coded the Alpina dash with Bimmercode, looks nice in sport, however, I don't really like the Confort and Adaptive mode, it's too blue !
Is there a way to configure or code in order to have the Sport display also in Confort and Adaptive mode ?
Thanks

Thanks. I asked Stephan via BimmerCode support if he can take a look at the tailgate. I had the same results as Tradecraft reports above when I try and change tailgate to close only on the remote/key.

BimmerCode seems to have got a big update yesterday, they have added remember last setting for Auto Stop/Start and there's a couple of options to add a digital speedo amongst others, haven't tried any yet

Check out end of turn signal stalk. You will see BC button to cycle through available displays (compass, average & current mpg, etc) on instrument cluster.
