Not sure if you guys have kept up with the orange orangutan aka chester cheeto's [trump] attack on BMW in the last 24 hours while in SC, but if he keeps his mindless shit up the Spartanburg plant will likely die and production sent elsewhere. German auto makers are "robbing us" he says. Yet BMW has brought a lot of jobs and many billions to the SC economy. Merc, the same in Alabama.

The last time the U.S. had a trade war [tariffs, taxes] was in the 1920's, and we all know how that worked out. It was a catalyst to the great depression. Sorry to get political, but it's relevant.

You're absolutely right ( except on the name calling, I respect other people's views and go the agree to disagree way) however for a smart individual, it baffles me how uninformed he is on certain subjects.

The plant in SC is a small city unto itself, and they are expanding as we speak. Plus the fact that they Must build a new plant and ship the tools there, plus train the workforce. I wouldn't worry about it closing anytime soon.

It's now the largest BMW Group plant in the world. US market is dependent on SAV/SAC's. It will be around for decades.

You're right, name calling doesn't help make an objective case. Thank you for the reminder. It was sorta inserting humor into a serious discussion, nevertheless you're still right.

I don't disagree but I think you should leave political comments in the political forum here. Plus, calling him an orangutan or cheeto makes you appear petty and not credible.

That's literally something a child would call somebody on the playground.

See above your comment. Again, I agree. I'm well too informed and educated to go there. Honestly, as I said, it was a poor insertion of humor to tame a serious situation. In retrospect I certainly see how it undermines a factual objectiveness that can easily be brought to the table.

Cool X4 Production

Holy shit! Thank you BMW for bringing your stunning and efficient and incredibly clean factory concept and execution to the United States! Freaking phenomenal! The automation is absolutely amazing. But what's most impressive is how the car rotates so the installer can do their job without breaking their back to get way get better leverage. And I love how the floor moves so the workers do not have to. I'm so impressed to see that here in the U.S. and it makes me proud to see American workers making fantastic vehicles.

It is totally awesome to see America and Americans making things again, I cannot reiterate how important that is. It's also nice to see the American union I'm assuming workers wearing cool and comfortable BMW branded uniforms. So they feel like they're all a part of a team, as I feel that's incredibly important, so they all can take pride in their collective work!

To see this access to the manufacturing process here in the States, now I know why the quality has gone up tremendously regarding the SAV's. I was absolutely shocked by the build quality of the 2018 X4 that we test drove, compared to the early years SUVs. Granted that also has to do with the design and engineering aspect, fit and finish was superb.

Well really it was cool to see are those hydraulic chairs/seats for the workers, it enables them better mobility and less repetitive motion which eventually will lead to injury's. Also those seats with the wheels on the bottom, super cool where do I get one of those?

Proudly Made In America!

Now BMW all you have to do is lower the X4 up-charge of $8,000 to match the base price of the X3.

Was looking close to see how they put on those front doors since almost every X3 in the US has tons of wind noise.

much the same way the person in discussion calls everyone else names and belittles or trys to belittle anyone who he perceives to have done him wrong, so everyone eventually, come across as a petulant child who is now actively going after BMW and Mercedes because he would like to renegotiate some trade deal which slips him money under the table.
