Does anyone know if the 2020 Supra intake is perhaps compatible with the 2020 G01?

This may be different for the 2020 build but it's something worth checking first.. Looking at the Eventuri intake and the install guide I think that would fit fine even with a couple mods to the mounting brackets I reckon I could make it work. But for just a small gain and the price of the intake I'm probably better of just getting the car tuned.. |

Thats what I mean. If there is anyone local with a 2020 Supra I am so willing to swap out air filters and even boxes just to see.

I'm going to go with the BMS intake system. I've used them before with no issues. As far as enclosed vs open, it does nothing for the temp since it's close to the engine. It's all going to be hot air. If you're concerned about dust getting into your engine then you should look up what the main purpose of the air FILTER is.
Also, an intake upgrade is more about how much air is being sucked in than it is the temp. If you can move it away from the engine bay and get cooler air then that's a plus. |

But when sitting in traffic for an extensive period of time it's natural for things to become heat soaked and everything is untouchable. I've even checked the original complete air box and that plastic soaks up a lot of heat and also becomes untouchable and when I mean untouchable your can touch it but I wouldn't hold your hand on it.. I've even considered wrapping the intake pipe in a heat resistant reflective tape see if that will lower the temps of radiant heat.. With mine I have also retained the bottom half of the air box with the agency power so you still have the benefit of drawing in cooler air when driving at higher speed.. Overall it's a personal choice and I've been running mine for quite some time now in some crazy hot days in Australia and not one cell has shown up.. Three weeks time it's booked I'm to be tuned so we'll see what benefits all this has.. |

There has to be a cross reference available for parts #s from different B58 engines for the 2020 M40i.
I was hoping to meet up with a local Supra guy and another one with a 340i to compare air boxes. But that was a bust.

Today I went down the list of intake manufacturers that have intakes available for the B58. And called them all one by one asking if they have any current options available for the 2020 M40i or if there is anything they know of that will be available in the future?
All answered the same with a- No. AFE KN MST Agency power Dinan Injen CTS I figure if more people email or call asking about 2020 M40i options the B58 will have something available eventually?

I have a BMS intake and to be honest, don't notice any changes in sound or performance. With my N55 there was a very noticeable sound difference and could really hear the turbo. No difference to my ear on the B58. Anyone else experiencing this?
Also, is there issues with water exposure with an open box filter? I did keep the bottom half of stock box. |

You are in luck as your X3 came with one. There's no such thing as a "performance intake" for these engines as they are strictly under-hood bling and noise makers. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with that but the stock intake does it's job very well until you start going bigger turbo.

If you actually loom up intakes for the companies Ive mentioned in a post above they do provide intakes for the B58 that are actual power modifications to some extent.

And I dont want to make this thread about opinions on 1 intake or how are other better. Because currently the only option is BMS. Lets keep this on topic for getting intake manufactures on board to produce other options for the 2020 M40i [IMG][/IMG]

WTF. OP was asking about performance intakes for 2019s, I have one and was discussing it. You don’t like it and want to turn this into a campaign to other manufacturers, start a new thread. |

Eventuri looks bad ass but nothing in dev yet. I’ve been following MSR street racing on IG they make true cold air intakes brings the cone to the front grill and good thing we have shutters so when it’s heavy rain just drive in comfort for the shutters to be closed. Too bad there’s nothing yet but I’ve been messaging them to make one.

I have a BMS intake on my 2019. As others have stated, by itself it doesnt provide any noticeable performance improvements... Maybe if you add an aftermarket downpipe and a tune... it does allow you to hear "whoosh" when the turbo spools up, and also it makes a sound which I cant describe when you step off gas.
I've had mine for 6 months, going to go back to stock very soon. DM if you're interested in buying my BMS intake |

I have the BMS now for my 2018. I’ve messaged the MSR guys and if someone lives near Charlotte NC they’d look into it. I’m half world away over the ocean so there’s no way I can get there.

With the 2021 GR Supra having the same hp as our 2020 M40i and they will definitely have more aftermarket part options for the Supra. Maybe some intake parts will be close to our B58? Still fingers crossed.
