X3 M40i used car prices
OK, this went sideways. Thanks for drifting into the territory of Carfax reports. Consider this thread and original intent dead. Thanks.

It's hard to say; you also sometimes don't know if it's an insurance auction repair. Might be more helpful to just pull up X3 M40i's nationwide on AutoTrader and see what the range is, etc.

True but Carfax should list accidents. Mine was a local trade. Autotrader does give some idea but they are not accurate in listing option packages and all options. There can be a big difference in price when you start adding in options.

Just keep in mind that it could take anywhere from 1 - 6 months for an accident to appear on carfax.

Carfax does NOT guaranty it lists all the repairs.
It only assures you that it lists all the repairs that are reported to it. I watched my dealer replace my fender and the work never appeared on Carfax - and I have access to the more thorough "Dealer" Carfax reports rather than the Consumer reports. |

Only things reported are on carfax. I had frame damage repaired on a car I owned and it was never reported to carfax because it was settled outside of insurance and never reported by the repairing company even though it is a repair center for the manufacturer.

I killed this thread. I wasn't asking for whether or not Carfax is a useful tool/report. Thanks anyway.
